Every single thing I have read everywhere including from Honda reps themselves seem to confirm that. On top of that, the Si isn't an international model, and the Hatch is made in England (sedan and coupe in Canada), so that is also some strong evidence that they won't do it. Maybe if people complain loud enough, sometime in the future, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Closest you can get is a Hatch Sport/Sport Touring 6MT with an ECU flash. Lots more power but of course none of the other Si exclusives. Some of them probably bolt on though - I imagine there will be a lot of 'DIY' Si hatches around in a few months.

I suppose that makes logical sense. The Si offers enough hardware differences that I'm not sure a tune on the Sport model will be able to bridge the gap.

Build and pricing available at Honda.com
    http://automobiles.honda.com/civic-si-sedan#build-price

    Not available at Honda.ca yet.

I can't believe they are still using halogen headlights...

Maybe they're just not fast enough for better headlights.

Canadian models will get the LED headlamps since ours is based off the Touring model. Expect it to be priced above the Touring model though like it historically is in Canada unlike US models where pricing is in the low/mid 20s.

I'm calling $28,890 as an MSRP.

I'm calling $35K for the Si and $45K for the Type R. The Sport model is $31K and I can't see Honda pricing the Si below the Sport.

Might be $35K OTD for a full load after GST and Freight/PDI but I really doubt they will price it that high to begin with. Even then I think that's high.

Sport models don't exist in the Coupe or Sedan bodies the Si will come in, but a Sport Hatch is not $31K, it's $28,377 including all taxes and fees (starts at $25,290).

    A Touring trim coupe is $27,890 + all fees & Taxes = $31,091.

I think the Si base price (before freight & PDI) will be under $30K, especially since that is probably a mental barrier for some.

US pricing has the new Si $800 more than the outgoing 2015 model ($23,090 vs $23,900). The 2015 Si in Canada was $26,850.

I can't see the 2017 being $8000 more in Canada when it's only $800 more in the US.

Yeah it's hard to imagine the SI being cheaper than the sport. Kind of pricey IMO as that's WRX and loaded GTI territory. Wouldn't be surprised if we get halogen headlights available as well just to keep the price down.

Last gen Si isn't really relevant. All we have is the pricing of the latest gen to go with and it's hard to imagine they price the Si below the Sport unless it's a stripper. The Si in the US is more expensive than the Sport so I would imagine it will be here as well. They will probably have to bring in an Si base model in the $29k range and have the limited in the $33k range.

Okay let's look at the current gen pricing from Honda.com:

US Civic Sedan Touring is $26,600
US Civic Sedan Si is $23,900

So the Si is $2700 less than the Touring.

The US Si is based off lower trim Civics. In Canada our Si will be based off Touring sedan.

My guess is only one loaded trim level $28,990 MSRP before fees. This car will be made in Canada so, it has that going for it vs the hatch. It uses the mass produced 1.5T engine too.

I would have said 30-31k MSRP 6 months ago, now I'm saying 28k.

Reason: The surprisingly good reviews of the Elantra Sport starting at 25k CDN.

Either way as uninspiring the 1.5T is, I'm looking forward to this new civic.

    Sedan is 2906lbs!

$28,890 for the Coupe and $28,490 for the Sedan before Freight/PDI and applicable fees and taxes.

The hatch sport touring is $29,490 before anything, and $30,740 with a CVT before anything. That actually makes me think the Si will be about the same, if it's indeed based on the touring, but obviously in coupe/sedan form (which claws back $2,100). The premium Honda charges for the hatch is $2,100, but the Si badge should balance that out.

Si doesn't interest me anyway. For me to overlook this level of ugliness the car needs a hell of a lot more than 205 hp. CTR or nothing.
