The third paragraph says 5.1 0-60 for the CTR
Hmm, good catch. Probably is a typeo then and they just carried over their table data below from the other articles.

The new Civic look ugly AF. 10th gen Type-R is going be a good investment.

Haha I just entered my name into the lottery system one day and got a call 3 days later. It was quite the surprise as I thought nothing of it when I entered.

Yes, this car will be driven. As a daily? No. But it will be driven.

Thanks. Way ahead of ya. Autokosmetik did the wrap and tint. I highly recommend their work.

Yeah it looks like a mini Accord. Hopefully the hatch looks better, or hopefully they look better in person than they do in all the spy photos. I agree that 10th gen looks better, at least based on the photos available.

Is new gen civic type R still FWD or potentially going AWD?

FWD still according to every rumor. There was an old rumor of a performance hybrid drive train, 400HP and AWD but there was no way that was ever happening as it would probably at $15K to the price and Honda is proud of it's FWD records.

Wouldn't there need to be an excess of red to remind you of ketchup? Looks more like bumblebee to me. I would imagine these cars may hold good value over the years as the Honda fanboys age and accumulate more wealth.

I don't love it, but I could see how it might look better in person.

The CTR and probably especially the Limited has got to be one of the best deals available in the car world right now. 2018's with lots of KM are still selling for above their original MSRP so you can essentially buy one, use it for 3-4 years, and you may not even lose any money except gas. I can't think of any other non-exotic vehicles that maintain 100% or near 100% of their value over a similar time period.

I just noticed some 3 year OLD CTR with 40-50k km are still asking $44-45k (probably won't get that price) but why not buying new?

Gas mileage is indeed very good, between 7-8L per 100km, half compare to typical SUV, and insurance is also cheap, 30-40% cheaper than SUV...

They are probably too hard to get, especially if you want a particular color. The Swindon plant that makes them in the UK is shutting down permanently in ~3 months and on top of that there were COVID delays that affected production from that plant for a big chunk of 2020.

Some dealers were also asking way over MSRP or forcing buyers to take horrible deals on protection packages, extended warranties, and financing so ~$44K might not seem too bad to someone who really wants one. That is of course just speculation. I know in the USA they are commonly sold $10K USD over MSRP and there are threads hundreds of pages long with people trying to find them closer to MSRP.

I guess even if you ended up selling $5K less than you paid for it, after 3-4 years the total cost of ownership is hilariously low if you managed to find one.

Honda has made the Civic Type R pretty steady since 1997 and it will return again in 2022/2023 - pretty good for a fad The Integra Type R on the other hand ended production ~20 years ago.
