    Default 2015 Chevy Colorado!

Leaked ahead of the LA debut.

2.5 4 cyl, 3.6 V6 and a 4cyl Diesel are the projected engine choices. With the Tacoma as the only real competitor I think this will sell well.

This is the North America version, way different looking from the the overseas model.

GMC will also be getting a version.

That would make it great for farms if it came sounding like a tractor

Diesel will be interesting. Wish we'd get the diesel Tacoma as well.

    Wow, A Canyon/Colorado I'd actually buy? Amazing.

But Ive always stayed clear of the 5cyl. Colorado's justs because their engine is shit, and V8 swaps are not happening with them.

Finally, seeing these trucks with decent engines really perks my interest. If I can get one with the (ZQ8) sport handling package, I can see myself buying one of these quite easily.

I'd expect a loaded model to be pretty close to what you would pay for a full size truck.

The compacts never come close to full size production orr sales numbers, I think this drives the price up.

I have to wonder about that...

Remember the last generation of s10s? Why was the blazer/jimmy on the same chassis most of the same parts - with tons more sheet metal and interior and HVAC needs - but the blazer was selling for 19k with a full load and the Sonoma was 26 as a work truck with no toys power anything, etc...

I'm watching with interest... But I'm willing to bet gm's gonna screw this up on pricing...

They better price it correctly or it wont sell.

It looks good, and they finally got rid of the horrible 5cyl motor. This could actually sell!

We shall see how it compares to the Taco though.

Looks much better than last gen, like others I couldn't get behind the 5 cylinder and strange looking front fascia. This looks pretty sleek and its about time they introduced a small diesel. Will definitely consider one in a couple years if they price it right.

How can they price it correctly though when trucks like the F150 start <$20k. I thought that was always the issue with the small trucks

Yup. Glad they are back that segment but I doubt most truck buyers will care.

Taco serve that segment pretty well already and I don't see a lot of Frontiers on the road.

The problem a few years ago was that the small trucks were in the same price category as their full sized brothers. What they need to do is make sure that the small trucks are 15%-20% less than the full size comparable model.

Ford eliminated the issue by stripping down the F-150 to the bone and selling it for $18k. But when I mean it is stripped, I mean bare bones. The issue I have with this is that if you want a crew cab and 4x4, you automatically start looking at V8 options and $35k price tag.

If you want a base Chev Silverado, that will start at $27k. If you want a crew cab, you start looking at $37k, and you never had the option of a V6. Making this new truck will be able to give people a fuel efficient utilitarian option without breaking the bank - hopefully.

The Taco starts at $18k, but can give you a crew cab, 4x4, and maintain a V6 for $30. Fully loaded TRD Off-Road comes out to $38.

For the Colorado, I want to see a starting price of about $17k, and up to $35k for the V6, crew cab, 4x4, Off-Road with some good options. Just keep it under Taco pricing and it should sell.
