Ill give ya 41 bux for the lot, so yes.
The older the better. There is a booth at Crossroads Flea market (Ogden & Blackfoot trail) that deals in vintage currency, so I'd stop by there this weekend and bring it.
The $5 bill from '86? worth all of $5, but the seriously vintage stuff may fetch a decent amount, especially considering its condition.
Anything prior to 1973 would be worth $$$$$ in that kind of condition. ESPECIALLY the 1937 one. The pre 1900 bills are worth a decent, decent coin if in mint condition. But those are stupidly hard to come by today.

i would be interested in the 10 and 20 note just for conversation pieces.

i think it has more to do with the serial number. Repeating numbers or really low serial numbers or something like 1234321, I forget what they call it but they're worth a lot. Those ones posted from ebay have repeating 8's so that could be why they're asking that but I don't know much about collecting currency
you are right. Collectors like consecutive serial numbers, or ones that repeat, or special meanings. examples of a few are 12344321 or 12388888 or 12398765 kinda thing.Originally posted by JC522

here is my collection of small notes.
some mint 1954 $1 notes.
a couple beat up 1986 $2 notes just so I can show the girls what they looked like.
a 1923 Dominion of Canada 25 cent note. Commonly called a shin plaster as Canadian soldiers used to put them between their shins and boots to stop them from rubbing their skin raw.
and lastly, a bunch of 1973 $1 notes and all of them are in consecutive order by serial number.

exactly. And most of those people are banking on serial numbers.Originally posted by D'z Nutz

There is no way those $20 bills are worth those prices, and the second one has been appraised and sealed to help boost it's price.
People do that with comics too, and send them off to the CGA to be sealed up and professionally graded condition.

Walker numismatics would probably be your best bet. Or ebay them if you have time.
Calgary coin guy only does limited amount of bills, Albern ditto - neither would probably give you the best price.
I did hear that they have been getting quite a few bills and pre-67 dollar coins in at Albern lately.
http://store.albern.com/cgi/viewItem...m-number=13322
They are dumping them at a fairly quick pace, and I've never seen the selection for pre-1967 dollar coins so stacked at Albern in several years. Someone obviously did a huge sell sometime this summer, might have been Calgarians looking to liquidate for repair money.
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Jeez, I should see what my dads collection of coins & bills from 1890 and up would fetch on ebay. Probably a frickin' mint lol.

All of those would be worth just a few bucks more than face value each. Bills are valued by condition, serial number, the signatures and the letters in front of the serial number. I cant make out a few of the signatures or the letters but I cant see any of really large value. For example if the signatures on the 1937 twenty were Osborne-towers a bill that condition would probably be worth 70-100 dollars other wise your looking at about 25 bucks. Feel free to PM me any questions if you have them.

I have some change I got from McDonald's this morning..

These are my oldest bills, all are dated 1967 or older.
The $1 above the $2 note is the most valuable as it does not contain a serial number, but the years 1867-1967, commemorating Confederation. All of these were in mint condition, guy was storing them in his basement.
These actually aren't worth much more then their face value, for me its more about the sentimental value of owning out of print money.

If you want something worth more than face value just get some bitcoins.
Anyways, I have a couple of nice $1 bills can't remember from when. I also had at one time in my possession a $1,000. That was sweet! So many zeros!
