Default anybody else get laid off 3 weeks before christmas?

Lol, what an awesome december, and company. I left a good company to go to a brand new company that had a extremely good idea, but thats all it ended up being, couldn't get our stuff running properly and got a call today we are done, wasted a year, collected some good money, but fuck me, december?? very very bad relations.

If they wait until first week of Jan, more people would be upset because they spent a lot during Christmas and can't pay off their bills. Shitty either way, but usually a better idea to ends things earlier.

Hopefully you can get back on your feet soon!

I was laid off on my birthday in '09.

Manager calls me into his office and gives me a sealed envelope, I think, great some gift cards or some shit. Tells me to open it and it's a layoff notice, shakes my hand, etc. I was pretty crushed. But then I left Yellowknife 6 months later and moved here.

Been nothing but good ever since.

I'm not concerned about getting another job, I will probably have one by friday, just funny cause 2 weeks ago they told us they werent laying anybody off and we had big plans for the new year, just kind of funny. I still get paid for the whole month, but I dont want to job seek before christmas.

In our office the phone list is half as long as it was in June. Kinda crazy.

I'm jealous, I wish I could get laid off. I've never gotten a chance to collect EI and just relax.

I think it's easier to find a job than to fill out all the EI paperwork.

I am in the frac industry. With a "green" electric frac company. They were to revolutionize the Frac industry. Most people probably haven't heard of them. But evolution well services was the company. Should have an interview in the next few days

Hey ken, I heard about that company. I know my employer was looking at them, but never pulled the trigger for some reason. Not sure if it was a problem witht he equipment being availible, or if there was some technical reason that it was unsuitable for our work.

In any event, hope you get a new job quickly, and I hope the new shop keeps you busy. Canyon seems to have a lot of jobs in central alberta from what I can see. No idea who's busiest.
