Default Just dropped camera down the stairs...

    Actually.

Had it at the top of the stairs to take a photo of the stairs (they need to be cleaned so I figured I'd take some nice before/afters with my DSLR). Sitting on tripod, pull the lever to turn it from landscape to portrait mode.

Nope. The lever released the camera from the dock, sending it flying down the stairs. It bounced a few times, hit the wall, and wound up on the tile.

Now, hilariously, nothing appears to be broken. Autofocus works on the lens, took a few images that appear to be okay. Body is fine.

What else should I be looking for to see if there was any damage?

    Thanks!

Most cameras are built pretty sturdy these days and the biggest thing I'd be checking out on a DSLR is the shutter. If its not cracked, broken and actuates properly I'd say your camera is most likely okay.

You might have some decentered elements in your lens. That has happened to me almost every time I dropped a lens. You can tell by looking at photos perpendicular to a flat textured surface and seeing if it has somewhat of a tilt effect. (where part of the image is in focus and it gets more and more blurry as you wander further away). Surprisingly, my tank-like Nikon 28-70 F/2.8 ED had the worst case of decentered elements, and that was after a small drop onto carpet. I guess a tank-like build only means it's harder to dent, but still just as easy to mess up internally. My Nikon 50 1.4D fell onto it's barrel onto concrete with a D700 attached and it's decentering was very minor. Go fig.

I'd be shitting myself if I had to watch my camera bounce down a flight of stairs, especially with a lens attached..
