I recently purchased a pair of polk RTIA9
they are rated at 500watt and bi-ampable.
after reading all the reviews on them, they do need power to drive them well.
This is what I currently have.
polk t600 (thinking of throwing them into the rear if I can handle them)
Yamaha rxv1000 100watt /ch (old but works great)
my question is what is the most cost effective way to drive the new polk 9 series?
I've learned that I can
-get a pre-amp using my yamaha's preout but this preamp appears to be very expensive
-get a good avr? any suggestions of a good receiver that could drive them without breaking the bank and suffer from being under powered?
-passive bi-amping? I notice my Yamaha comes with A/B channel. Is this what they mean passive bi-amping if I simply connect the pair of RTiA9 as if they were 4 speakers for the fronts?
any home audio guru experts out there
