Default Can you blog in Hong Kong?

    Hi everyone,

I am headed for Hong Kong soon and was wondering if blogs are blocked/censored there. I can't seem to find a solid answer on google. Does anyone know for sure? I am using Blogger if that makes a difference.

For those thinking this is strange, China does not allow blogs. Hong Kong used to be under Brit rule but now belongs to China again, and therefore might be blocking blog access...

    Thanks in advance!

You'll be fine. It's mostly finding the time doing it because you'll be too busy VACATIONING.

Thanks everyone! Glad to hear that. Blogging in general is tough to get around to, away from home or not - but I'll need to for this one.

HK is not China as it is a special administrative region with its own political, legal, immigration systems and policies separate from mainland China and essentially does whatever the eff it wants.

On the face of it, HK'ers will never identify themselves as being part of China, but all HK'ers know their economy is so strong because of the middle and upper class mainland Chinese people coming into HK and making it rain in its stores. Also, HK companies now rely on Chinese manufacturers and expansion into mainland China to grow its business.

    Yes and no.

China does fuck with it but only little by little as they still kinda need HK. But as other parts of the country are getting more developed, HK's place in Chinese economy diminishes over time.

Also, due to the immigration policy, mainland population are slowly taking over HK. Typical communist tactic. They only hope that the pro mainland population will exceed locals and then they can bring in faux democracy.

As for blogging, they may be time during further off island excursions that my gave you an hour or 2 of transit. Other than that, HK is very fast pace, has lots to see and never sleeps. I won't waste time in front of the laptop screen.

I agree to some extent but that's another discussion...

Anyway, you'd see a shit load of ppl just stare at their phones whenever they are on the MTR/Bus/Minibus but you can definitely go to a coffee shop and sit down and do your thing (provided you can find a seat ) I think they do more instagrams/FB more than anything over there so you can give that a shot! Post up some pics as I kinda miss that place b/c of the current shitty weather we have

+1. Spent 3 weeks there last Christmas. In T-Shirts even on their "coldest day" at +9°C
2 weeks into it, I was thinking to myself "I don't remember what English sounds like"
Also, EVERYONE and their grandma is on Whatsapp over there.

Yes you can I believe. I was there a few years ago and was blogging every night before bed in a bar downstairs of my hotel.
