Shaw Price Increase - March 1 / 2014

Anyone else notice Shaw is putting through ANOTHER increase on March 1st, 2014 ?

This is what - the third time in 12 months they have increased pricing?

Makes me wish I didnt own all my shaw equipment.

I canceled my cable a few weeks ago, haven't even begun to miss it. Netflix + fast internet seems to be all I need since I can get essentially anything that way.

Nobody else can touch their internet service though, so I'll be paying whatever they want for that still.

I also learned I owned my shaw box when I tried to return it haha, I had no idea.

Those buggers..can't stand Telus so won't switch to them. Maybe I'll cut the tv and just drop down to internet only.

55$ for 10mbit, 60$ for 25mbit or 80$ for 50mbit? Is this before or after the new increases?

I don't use Cable its all streamed/usenet so all I need for utilities is internet but this is kinda ridiculous. Anyone that uses netflix at all regularly 10mbit /w 125gb monthly is nowhere near enough so already pushed into minimum 60$ a month.

^Telus is even worse for BS rates. They're great for people who don't read the terms of agreement I totally agree with you. It's insane how much they charge for internet only!

Mine is going from $132 to $139.90 so looks like it is time to remove cable as I do enjoy shaw internet greatly.

Mine is going from 157 to 164.90
prior increase was from 149 to 157
and before that was from 139 to 149

Its almost impossible to price out this shit on either telus or shaws website now - the only pricing they release is all the BS promo crap -

I called them to argue and basically just got told: "you are already grandfathered and a new customer would pay more for the exact same services" - pretty nice way of telling me to go fuck myself. lol.

How can you tell how much your bill will go up? Do you have to call in? I logged on my account and I don't see any mention of an increase unless I'm blind..

I cancelled my cable and telephone with shaw after my new home promo ended. I opted for the 25 mbps option for internet and set up netflix with unblockus.com to get american netflix.

The published rates for Internet are still the same. Where is this price increase advertised? Is it for TV only?

Look at your most recent bill and it is below the amounts

I priced out what I have currently with telus and after the 6 months, it would be $0.90 difference. I will just cancel cable, set up couchpotato with a new router and get an hdtv antenna for sports
