What do you mean "Nope"? The guys opinion is wrong?

I'd think of season 2 like American Horror Story, if you're familiar with that show. First it was American Horror Story: Murder House, then AHS: Asylum, then AHS: Coven. Same name, different stories each season.

Guess I'm in the minority here.

Was ok. Pretty weak story in my opinion with an awful finale. Nothing new or exciting was done with this series. The way you all talked it up I thought it would be real good. Outside a few scenes it seemed pretty empty story wise.

^ I agree, I watched to episode 4 and gave up. This was a very bland show.

Or it's just like its name sake, the long running magazine of short stories.

... but this one was just called True Detective... not, True Detective: Woody and Friends.

    Default True Detective, season 2

Anyone else watching it? Not sure I like it as much as the original so far. The first two episodes seem rushed to set up too many characters.

Glad to see Colin Farrell playing as himself though

Haven't seen the 2nd episode yet, cued up for this evening.
So far, yeah not quite what the 1st series was, but will probably get there.
Colin will definitely bring it. Looking forward to how it develops.

I can't take Vince Vaughn seriously. Am seriously disappointed in this season. I watched the first episode and was not caught up at all. The first two seasons were gripping right from the get-go.
I'll give ep 2 a shot...but not optimistic at all.

Agreed on Vince Vaughn not adding anything good this season. The other characters are pretty good though.

Ep 2 was a huge improvement from the first ep for season 2. I agree with previous poster - I almost gave up after such a lame first episode on the 2nd season. Man, I'm glad I stuck it out for the second ep, insane, especially the ending.

I'm absolutely watching ep 3 now, hands down.

First season was meh at best. Can't even stomach the 2nd season without falling asleep.

Episode 1 was pretty weak for me, but it sounds like I should keep watching. I liked how everything kind of ties together, but it was so slow.

Season 1 didn't get good until near the end IMO. Not sure if I'll have the same patience this time around if things don't pick up.

    Ha, not so slow now.

That shootout was intense. Not as brilliant as the season 1 shootout though. Season 1 set the bar pretty high with a lot more smart detective work. Season 2 barely has any of that and too many characters to spend time on.

Yeah, I'm still not invested in this. Probably because there's too damn much going on and I don't give a shit about anybody's family or sexuality problems.

At this point, Frank is the only guy I care about, and it's not because I like him, it's because I'm enjoying watching his descent into "whatever it takes".
