    Default 2022 BMW 2 Series

I think they really missed an opportunity here. Sort of has some Z8 vibe from the front 3/4, but other than that the front is okay...I think I am put off by the grill with the active flaps. The back is the worst.

It could look prettier. Hopefully better in M form.

The lights are very weird all around.

That being said, it’s probably the best car BMW will make for the foreseeable future, and sure as hell isn’t the ugliest.

A little disappointing but hopefully the M2 will look less shit.

It's absolutely hideous from pretty well every angle, worse than the new M3/M4 IMO.

The only exception is the side profile, the proportions (i.e., long hood/dash-to-axle ratio) are pretty good.

I definitely don’t think it’s worse than the new 3/4

I wouldn't say looking maybe as good as the 318ti is a high water mark

Tail lights and front bumper doesn't flow but at least it's signature BMW unlike the M4.

If they can put some seriously fender flares on the M2 i think that will make a huge difference.

I don’t get the obsession with the 2002 personally… it’s actually kindof laughable to compare when you consider how big the 2 series actually is.

As always BMW can't get tail lights right but the rest of the car IMO is a marked improvement on the outgoing 2 series coupe. That purple M240i looks much sportier and attractive than the current one. I enjoyed my M2 but I always preferred the look of the F82 M4. While the rear hips were great I felt it was kind of a compressed marshmallow look. This is cleaner especially in the side profile and is the first non-M car I know of that has M-mirrors and a power bulge in the hood. A more aggressive looking M240i bodes well for the upcoming F87.

Which 2 series is it that is built on BMW's shitty FWD platform? Is the grand coupe? I'm guessing so as it starts $20K below the coupe.

Ya, the 2GC sits on a mini platform.

I believe the GC use the same (or similar) transmission as MINI's ALL4 front-biased AWD system.

You bite your tongue. The Z8 is the best looking BMW of all time, and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as anything BMW is currently producing.

I used to be a huge BMW fan, but I cannot think of a single car in the current lineup that would get me to part with my money. IMO, save for the M5, there's a more compelling option in every category.

Configurator is up on the website now. I hate how you can’t option things like premium audio separately anymore. Regardless I was never the target market anyway as I’m buying my dads F22 when he’s done with it.

Pretty cool, can't imagine it'll be cheap to maintain though.

Haha! You're right. I guess I was trying to find something I like because I was so disappointed. They were really doing well with the 2 series especially with the previous gen M2. I was hoping for them to ride the wave and refine the formula a bit. BMW design has been missing the mark a lot recently.

Pretty ugly and looks cheap. How much plastic do you need on the intake vents and grille? Sheesh.

    I’m with you&me. BMW hasn’t built a car that I would buy since 2013.
