I am trying to wire the money over, but apparently the bank is having an issue with sending it because it wants a postal code or zip code for the bank in Hong Kong, but apparently they don't use those there, so I am waiting to hear back on options.

Apparently the swift key is supposed to give the banks all the needed info, but something isn't working right or what not.

*UPDATE*

After 4 attempts, The Bank thinks they have it all set up correctly now. Apparently Honk Kong doesn't really use Postal codes or Zip codes, and it was throwing their system for a loop.

Either way, money has been sent today.

The Cameras are being shipped via DHL, so I assume they should get here fairly quickly.

The GPS dongles came from a secondary location and looks to be going via post, so those may take a few extra days to arrive.

Either way, I will keep you all posted!

alright, so now that I have some time, to do a proper update...

All 3 packages arrived in town yesterday. 2 by DHL and one by post. kinda funny they left at the same time, and arrived. Gotta give credit to EMS, their post is just as fast as a courier!

Anyways, I got the EMS stuff today no problem, paid the fees and crap and brought it all home. These are the GPS dongles, and they are all here in my possession.

I also went to clear the cams through customs, and brought all the right paperwork filled out and such. Not sure what the issue was or is, I am kinda suspecting a newbie CBSA agent as he constantly was talking to other agents and seemed to be getting instructions or advice. 2 hours later, I got the fee schedule and paid all the importing fees and crap, only to be told that I am being referred to secondary. Basically that means they want to take a closer look at the dash cams, but if everything checks out, I should be able to pick them up tomorrow. So with any luck, people can start picking them up tomorrow night.

no dice this weekend. Customs still has not released the boxes as far as I can tell, and DHL call center is closed for the weekend. Looks like it will be Monday.

alright, so ANOTHER update.

Friday I got the call saying I could pick up the cams from DHL at the airport. Showed up, and was told customs had not released them yet. fuck, took time off work, drove to the airport only to leave empty handed.

Got the call again on Monday. Went back down, same story. This time I start giving them shit, yadda yadda yadda.

so apparently, they are telling me that this whole clearance shit could take up to a week. I am still pissed that I have had to go to the airport twice for absolutely nothing.
