Placed an order on March 8th and just received the ojocam pro dash cam today - xpresspost. So far I am impressed with the overall build quality and for the price, it really is hard to beat.

Got a chance to play around with it a little bit tonight. Seems like a solid little unit. Even came prerecorded with some video and a picture from the factory on the SD card. Although I didn't order or pay for one with an SD card so I'm not sure if someone screwed up and gave me one by mistake.

Got it all set up today, fits perfectly behind my rear view and I can't even see it when I'm driving, almost invisible from the outside too. Day time quality is great, although the microphone isn't a huge fan of loud music. Will have to see what the night time videos look like soon.

Did any get the OJO Value?

I'm on the fence because I don't need the GPS functionality, but want the windshield install capability and the value is only a dash install.

I didn't care about GPS either, I don't even have the GPS info overlaid on the screen but wanted the mount as well so I just grabbed the pro. Slightly better camera and comes with the mount anyway.

Got mine on friday as well, just have to figure out the hardwiring because I am certainly not having a cord dangle down with it.

Figured I could just cut the lighter plug off, but the cord insulators (or whatever they are) are way too big to tuck under the headliner.

you have to disassemble the cig lighter part... the camera accepts 5v, the cig lighter steps it down from 12 to 5v, so you need to keep it in there, but you can take it apart to hardwire it, that's what I did, actually wired mine in today.

Or use one of these and wire it to the dome light (which in most cars has power for 10-30 minutes after shutting off)

I didn't hardwire mine in, just ran the wire under pannels/weather stripping and then drops down from the headliner near the mirror. Maybe 6" of visible cord total, with 3" coming from the plug and 3" from the mirror. I didn't have any duty or fees though.

but the cig lighter comes with it, and is essentially the exact same thing in a different box... so why spend more money?

It's nice having a pigtail to work from and it lets you keep your factory power adapter in case you need to temporarily use the cam in a different vehicle. I used a similar adapter to install overhead power for my GT300W and it worked great.

Instead of taking apart the cig adapter I simply purchased a female plug along with add-a-fuse for my install.
