403 Chinook Beyond Meets: 2014 Edition

Sugarphreak - it happens, maybe they did so because of infamous "liability" ?? Or a dozen other politcal/non-pc related reasons.... who knows?

But that aside, having been to a couple of each meets this year --- the GE meets are definitely more chill, more diverse and have a lot of really cool cars from every group there! Even if they don't support Motorsports they're still giving us a place to hang out now. Lots of fun cars show up!

The Beyond meets are rice infused with a lot of cliquey bad attitudes on display which is kind of a turn off for wanting to go - though some really nice cars show up. But the bitchy highschool kids starring us down last week talking smack as we walked by almost made me want to lock them in their own trunks....The car world is diverse and we mod for ourselves not to please the people at the meets - if y'all have some asinine comment keep it to yourselves not all of us want to drive a $1200 honda civic or whatever and swap engines and put $5k worth of rims on it to be super "jdm yo"... //end rant

Props to the lime green 350Z last week, the blue STI with the white letters on the rubber, and the great showing of S2K's!!! :-)

i think thats a little harsh man, but i understand your view. I think one thing we have to accept is that most of the GE crowd does not care whatsoever to race their cars on a track or autocross course. They are mostly the show n shine type who goes for a cruise here and there. They like doing that, and it makes them happy. GE casino gets a little extra business in exchange for the use of their lot, is that not an acceptable tradeoff? Where else could they go? Autocross is unfortunately a different type of person and its been hard to get any public support, and yes the GE crowd should support us in the same fashion we have always supported them. But if they dont support us I dont think we should turn our back on them, 1 cheek for another seems to always drive ppl further apart. The last thing we need is a wedge driven between the GE groups and the autocross groups. Let bygones be bygones, we'll find a lot in Calgary one day.

@sugarphreak --- Understood... ok that is totally bogus IMO - I agree with you on that. However if we chose not to go there, where else is there to go? and MGCM made a good point that a lot of the crowd there is not the racer crowd but the show crowd. Are there any autoX events this year? I haven't run since Edmonton and would like to again but you're right all of the closures of race facilities in southern Alberta... Calgary... kinda sucks... big time...

Heh, my gf found the broken peices of it after most people had left... I just laughed and said "Hmm, someone's suspension broke" :p
