Perhaps a really dumb question but, if I want to buy songs/albums, where would I go outside of iTunes?

I don't think you can buy digital in Canada on Amazon.
The hmv suggestion is what I found, Download the app and you're good to go. I'm certain I'm in the minority though of people that still buy music.
I buy music, but from iTunes...
Itunes still.

I still buy CD's and rip them to FLAC. If I want MP3's, I use dbPowerAmp to convert. I use the FLAC files to stream to my home theater setup and on my phone, and MP3's on my old iPhone 3GS for the car stereo.
You don't need Apple hardware to use iTunes, but for me it's Amazon.
Xbox Music.
Hopefully Google Music launches in Canada. "officially"

I stopped collecting music years ago. There are a billion songs and independent artists on YT to listen to now. Most of the time I listen to YT at home or in the car.

If I really want to support the artist, I'll see if I can buy it in lossless off their website, otherwise I just pay for rdio.Originally posted by syscal
