Apparently this doesn't work too well as described by the Yoga 2 Pro owners and the Vaio Flip owners that got the higher res screen. Not to mention if you turn down the resolution then you're just wasting pixels, not really getting the full use out of the super HD screen.

Didn't say they don't, as they have one of the best PM policies of any electronics retailer, but if you do enough shopping around there may be better deals to be had by purchasing and PM'ing from other retailers.

Unless you're a gamer or doing some high end video editing, then the type of processor or the amount of ram doesn't mean shit.

If you want speed, then get a laptop with an SSD, and as Rev pointed out, a highly sensitive HDD armature is not the way to go in a device that typically gets moved around a a lot.

I still don't understand how price matching at one retailer can be better than price matching at another. It's the same price.

memory express for example does a 25% off of the price difference, whereas other places (futureshop, bestbuy, etc) normally do a 10% ?

anyways, i ended up buying this
    http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX50239

doesnt have backlit keyboard (like dell 7000 series) but it does have a dvd-rw drive (unlike dell 7000 series) in 15 inch form

and has touch screen too (since its windows 8.1 i figured a touch screen would be nice to have)

    anyone have MSDN access?

I'd suggest Asus. They're a little more expensive, but the quality is worth paying for.

I bought the U30JC-B1 about 3 and a half years ago. I use it everyday and for net surfing the battery still lasts about 6 hours. The only maintenance it has ever required is a quick blow of the video card fan with some compressed air.
