what's the point of that "street cleaning" if that section of road looks same/worst after they clean it? such waste of money/time. lol

Good god, thats awful. Definitely no point in sweeping without cars moved.

How many of you live in new neighbourhoods where construction equipment constantly drags mud and rocks out into the street?

    april 28th!!
You can technically get a ticket for each window that's illegally tinted. So as above, if you're being an ass to the officer (or if he's just an ass to begin with), he can give you two. (or three tickets if you're dumb enough to tint the windshield of your BMW... but if you own a BMW you can't be stupid right?)

Scheduled for Apr 21st, but they've already been through the neighborhood twice. The did about half one day and half the next, but they didnt have signs up and there are so many spots that they just drove around because of the cars parked there.

    Apr 28th!

I often wonder, if they didnt put so much gravel on the roads there would not be such a huge cleanup every spring. Is Calgary not the only city in Canada to use gravel? Such a mess every spring.

Not until the end of May for us. I really wish on the sweep days they would put out the signs a day or two early and enforce the parking ban. Tag & tow anything left on the road.

The main builder pays for private street sweeping in my area because they are developing further into the community past all of our houses so they've already been by at least 3 times this year.

Turns out my area was designated as a tow away zone (signs put up yesterday), but then they just decided not to. My neighbour left 2 vehicles out front, and half of my area is still unswept as a result. When asking calgary parking authority about it...

Pretty common. they put up tow away zone signs, but don't always tow. If it's a smaller area that is unswept, you can sweep it yourself in ten minutes or less.

They're still sweeping? We were done before May started.

I was super anal about cars on the street too, kept telling the neighbors about sweep days so that they'd have their cars off the road so we'd have a clean block.

^too bad all the main roads still have boatloads of gravel on them. its like they did a half assed job in the residential areas then ignored all main streets in our area (17th and 85th street)

Panorama is still waiting for street sweeping... The sign outside the community says the "area cleanup" is scheduled for June 1st, so I really hope it happens.

Looks like my neighbors are pretty good this year. The whole block/loop is cleaned, 0 gravel left.

Although they were a week late from the posted date on the website.

Sweep it yourself, and then dump all the gravel on the assholes car that didn't move.

Usually early one year or late the next - last year our community's streets were done early on, this year we're at the end of the street cleaning cycle.

Neighbor was an idiot and moved her vehicle for the first day, but not the second. Of course it was the second day they came by.

I would be a dick and put the gravel on her car but she is recently widowed and I want her to spend some of that life insurance policy to rebuild our shared fence.

That's right. Fuck'em. Doesn't matter that the asshole didn't move his car because his wife was in the hospital giving birth to their stillborn child. He didn't move his fucking car to have some gravel swept up!

Fucking asshole and his fucking dead baby.

Because the same assholes happen to have a stillborn baby every year exactly on the day that street cleaning comes...
