like 2-3 ok but wouldn't the other people shut him down by then

You did see some of the victims right and read the story? 1 was asleep on the couch, 1 was surprised in the kitchen, the other was a small girl

I went to high school with lawrence and i'd be shocked if he weighed over 130lbs. Plus yah, the adrenaline/mental state of degrood would be tough. I've never had someone come at me with a knife but i dunno how I would react, i'm not trained like most of the rest of the world

Cut a guy's head off on a bus and get day passes within 6 years
Stab 5 people in a party and get day passes within 5

I'm at a loss for sarcasm here.

    It's absolutely crazy.

IMO there are 2 options here regardless of mental fitness 1. Life in prison with no change of parole or 2. Execute the guy

So when he's out in public he'll be slightly less stabby now? Maybe only stab 1 or 2 people instead of 5?

That long? Hadn't followed the story over the years but I thought it would be less to be honest given the typical punishment scale.

Canada's a joke when it comes to justice. Look at the Bolsa shooting and the one where they killed that couple in the garage in skyview, both the shooters were on bail for prior shootings lol

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

He was never sentenced. He was deemed not criminally responsible due to the mental condition, there was no mens rea (the knowledge of wrongdoing). So he was handed over Alberta Health Services to be in a psychiatric facility.

Sounds like the opening to a Michael Myers movie.

This mental issue thing that gets you off in Canada is a joke and completely backwards. Let me get this straight, a guy who has good reason goes out and kills someone, like perhaps his cheating wife or whatever. Very unlikely to reoffend, but gets life sentence for murder. Another guy goes on a stabbing rampage or cuts off a bus passengers head, all due to brain being broke, meaning no way to tell if this will randomly happen again but chances seem high. Yup that guy isn't responsible for his actions. Responsible or not, if he is crazy enough to randomly go murder people without warning, lock him up forever or remove him from the gene pool.

Wasn't his dad a Police chief or something? That probably had a huge influence on how this case was treated.

Kinda weird that you think killing a cheating spouse is justified homicide
