No Walkman, but I have a Diamond Rio, one of the first MP3 players. Need a parallel port to load songs into it.

Two posts in and I see this thread is already going off topic - so Beyond.

On topic, I believe we've still got an old blue Walkman kicking around somewhere in the bowels of our house.
    Will fuck off, again.

Had one. Still got it. Not worth much in selling so I've kept it all these years. I think I also have a discman as well haha.

Nice to see some kids not totally overreact and still have some common sense, like the pandora/"so? an ipad costs $700" kid

Walkman was a huge part of life in JH, then discman of course, I still have both lol.

I have an RCA that holds 2 songs as well with sd card slot but back then it costed a small fortune to get a card over 16mb or whatever.

There was one when they had kids do all sorts of older things, french one iirc

edit: bonus if you know french of course but how they interact with these things is pretty funny

    That kid is awesome.

I remember auto-reverse, you mean you have to physically flip the tape, that's so ghetto!

Then the ability to skip songs, that's godsend!

Then discman but the earlier ones would skip when shaken. Next came the "shock proof" or whatever that's called, ooooooooh!

walkmans were so badass back in the day. I still remember listening to Appetite For Destruction and Lies over and over and over and over on long field trips on the bus. Eventually the batteries would wear down and the tape would just play slower haha. Some kids had ones with two headphone ports so their buddies could listen too.

I always had cheap generic cassette players, but once I got around 12 or 13 I spent like $130 or some ridiculous amount on a portable CD player that had a little controller built into the headphone cord. that thing was badass. Then I moved up to a unit that could play MP3 CDs, which was killer because I could store like 5 or 6 albums on each CD.

Another yellow Sony Sports. It still works and our kids use it once in a while to listen to our old cassettes. Man that thing sounds like shit...lol.

The best was the 'shock protection' on discman's.

There were ones with uber floating mechanisms (like my 'Car Discman' which was like $350) and the later ones with read-ahead buffers but those still skipped.

I probably still have my Walkman somewhere... My most listened to tapes were easily Rap Traxx 2 and Jive Bunny hahaha.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!

    Rap Traxx 2.

I had the first Rap Traxx. Bought at Co-op back when they had a small Cassette section.

I still have the rare (relatively) red Sports Walkman. Also a Discman and a Mini-disc player/recorder.
