Star Wars: Episode VII

Looks like Disney is putting out their first new film in the Star Wars franchise since buying Lucas Films. The movie takes place after (obviously) Episode VI which starred Mark Hammill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fischer. So naturally they're bringing back the same cast and everyone has signed on including the guy whom played Chewie and also Anthony Daniels, the only actor whom has been in all 6 previous films (C3PO). Here's to hoping they don't fuck it up with a whole line of new annoying characters to make toys out of.

Right now I call:
- a new cute miniature droid that does a lot of dumb shit
- a new furry alien type creature like the Wookies except this one has a weird catch phrase
- a robot that can swap out a lot of its accessories for lots of cool shit

We'll see how right I am next year.

I predict a very well executed marketing strategy to ensure major profits from toys, as well as re-relases of every previous episode, directors cuts, box sets, "classic" figurines, and happy meals tie-ins.

I think with J.J. Abrams it won't be another POS like the last 3 were. Fringe, Lost, and Person of Interest are/were all fantastic and darker shows. If Episode 7 looks like another attempt to please little kids, I will not be there.

I think with JJ the film good either be a great refresher from 123 (look at the trek series) or as mentioned before, it will just be a muddled attempt to tell a story line and sell a shit tonne of toys

Rumor has it they plan to release 6 Star Wars related movies every year starting in 2015. Including giving Han Solo and Bobba Fett their own full lenth feature film. If this is true then it screams cash grab to me.

Im a huge Star Wars fan but im not holding my breath yet.

Some of my favorite expanded universe stories were about Boba... Great character.

I always thought han was a bit of a fruit...

seems like every star wars movie they introduce some new and unique lightsaber. That one in the trailer seemed pretty stupid. I guess it seems to be some sort of guard which makes sense in a real sword but in a lightsaber, you're probably just as likely to cut your fingers or stab yourself

This. I was obsessed with Star Wars as a Kid and I used to read those Tales from Mos Eisley or Tales of the bounty hunter books. They dove alot deeper into the Star Wars Universe.

I'm excited he did a great job with Star Trek and I wasn't even a fan of that. However I def enjoy the Star Wars series!
