So I stumbled upon this in a Facebook group called TD INSURANCE COMPLAINTS, everything is posted online, so i didn't censor any names.

I am not part of this story, nor i represent anyone. I agree with Hamish, I understand she wants to grief, but why does the landlord has to suffer.

how can insurance demolish a house and the fire Marshall investigation is not completed? I think its a made up fact.

So she got a week's notice? I wouldn't expect the first thing for them to be thinking about to be "shit we gotta get all our stuff out" after their kids died in a fire.

TD could have dropped the ball on this one if they didn't say from the get-go how long they have to get their stuff out, left it, and then is now just giving them notice.

When it comes to business like this, boundaries should be established ASAP.

The landlord should provide her with the option of either continuing to pay rent and taking all the time she wants to empty the unit or she should empty it within a reasonable amount of time. Two months is more than reasonable and at this point is causing harm to the landlord.

I assume under the Tenancy Act that a lease is immediately terminated if the unit becomes uninhabitable?

    This happened in March:

And it's now May. Sounds reasonable to me to vacate the property.

It seems to me that the landlord advised her to get the contents out by March 25th which is about a months notice. TD is following up to ensure that this was properly communicated to her, and if she had enough time to get her stuff.

I really don't see what the big deal is here.
