Word. I'd be happy if they handed out driving bans like this left and right. Get some shitty drivers off the road.

She shouldn't have stopped with her car sitting in the fast lane, it was obstructing traffic and obviously creating a hazard.

Also the biker shouldn't have been speeding, but more importantly he should been driving more defensively. Riding a bike is already dangerous enough, if the girl hadn't stopped for the ducks there is a good chance they would have been wandering around in the fast lane anyway and if the biker couldn't avoid a giant blue car he would have even less chance of avoiding a duck.

    This.

1.) She created an unnecessary hazard by parking there.

2.) The biker should have been able to safely avoid this hazard.

Had there been a deer, a moose, a truck, a rock, a boulder, a tree branch, a family of ducks, this would have had the same result. The guy on the bike was negligent. I read an article that said it was sunset and the lighting was poor. If so why was the bike driving full speed (speeding?)

Don't get me wrong, the girl is a complete idiot and Darwin should fix her, but Darwin also took care of the guy on the bike. Rule #1 of driving: people are idiots.

If you're driving at a speed where you cant stop for a potential hazard, then you're driving too fast.

Excuse me, i have to go now, im late for an appointment.

My car has stalled in the left lane of Southbound Deerfoot Trail before 130th ave before lol I just got out and left it there. I was 16 and didn't know WTF to do Went back later and it was impounded so went there to get it. Anyway, I thought if you rear end someone it's your fault?

    This just sucks all around.

I think it was an unnecessary harsh decision.
It was an accident. Guy should have been able to avoid it.

I can understand some jailtime, especially only having to do weekends and community service. 10 year driving ban is ridiculous though, convicted DUI's get less punishment. She now knows it was a bad decision, and wouldn't do it again.

I live in bearspaw and I always stop for the duckies.

Granted, I stop on a secluded country road with a speed limit of 60km/hr and I don't get out of my car to collect them up. It's a known duck crossing, fuck everyone behind me.

Anybody that argues I should be running over ducklings at 60km/hr so some fuck can get home 30 seconds early so he can jerk off and slurp it up before his wife gets home can go into your garage, jerk off and slurp it up.
