Default High Margin Products to Import from China

My wife is in China right now sourcing materials for a business. They will be buying at least one container, but will likely have a fair amount of space left over in it. This container will mostly be filled with product for an existing business, but will have a bit of I filled space.

Looking for suggestions for items to import (to fill the empty space) that are preferably not too large/heavy, high profit margins and related to home furnishings to hopefully help expand his business in the future. (They are looking at faucets/bathroom vanities/sinks, etc). Some of our ideas include LED fixtures (not sure about obtaining csa certification), bamboo decking/flooring, steam showers...

So, any ideas? I'm open to any and all ideas as long as it somewhat a fits the criteria above. Appreciate any input I receive. Again, just looking for general ideas so they can research pricing, etc. They arrived in Hong Kong last night and will be there for a couple weeks.

FYI, this is her first trip to China, but she is accompanied by the owner who now lives in Canada, but lived in China many years.

Chinese built motorcycles have a growing presence here in Canada, already there are two US based manufacturers whose bikes are built in China. The cost to build a bike there is about $1k US, yet they typically sell for $4k here in North America. Most people are quite nervous about buying Chinese made bikes, but those who do own them have had few issues.

There are a few very good companies with excellent track records. Most of them are garbage, but there are a few ones (such as Global Strong motorcycles) that are very good.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Cell phone cases. The margins are ridiculous.

What crap? You do realize that most of what YOU buy is from China, right? 😜

@dj... We are going to look into some pricing on the steam shower units, but anything with electrical involves certification and don't want to be stuck with something they can't sell.

I just watched Border Security so I suggest anabolic steroids and human growth hormone. Seems to be popular.

    Umm...

Sourcing parts out of China when it comes to electrical stuff is a big nono especially if the company is actually based in China. Odds are everything has fake compliance markings... It's ok if it is a European/North American company using factories over there but if the product is created in China it just might electrocute you or burn down your house.

We're looking for suggesting for products that would compliment an existing home furnishings store... So while I appreciate all the suggestions, none of them really make sense for us.

Any suggestions for home related items? A person on another forum had suggested sustainable bamboo flooring/decking, which I thought was a good idea or composite decking.

My response had nothing to do with the country of origin and was 100% based on your approach to the venture.

I think the bamboo decking is a great idea. What about solar panels?
