Excited for the draft tomorrow. Any of the top 4 will be a decent choice for the Flames. Obviously hoping for Ekblad because Seth Jones fell to #4 last year.

It would be nice if we can get Sam Reinhart, then we can start collecting all the Reinharts . But I think it's more likely we'll get Bennett or Draisaitl
Florida will likely take Eklbad if they don't trade their pick to Vancouver.
Buffalo either Bennett or Reinhart
General consensus seems to be the Oilers are leaning towards Draisaitl.
Calgary takes whatever Buffalo doesn't.
Personally I'm hoping for Reinhart.
I'm rooting for sam but that is because family and I are biased about the last name and thus most of us will get jerseys safe if he leaves lol
Flames got better today.
Jonas Hiller - 2 year deal, $4.5M AAV
Mason Raymond - 3 year deal, $3.2M AAV
Pretty big pick ups there. Also pleased with most of the draft picks.

Watch the cat for different holiday hats!
Ok the Engelland deal is a head scratcher.. 8.7 mil for 3 years? Damn.
^
He's a character player. Great in the room and well liked by teammates. It is an overpayment but the flames need a new player to complain about since butler is gone and him coming in at sub 2million wouldn't make him a whipping boy haha

Treliving said at the news conference we had the money to spend to get to the floor so he felt it was okay to overpay a bit since the spot needed filling and there were other teams trying to get him (including the oilers ).Originally posted by ZEDGE

Hopefully Hiller comes back to form here and provides a good presence in net with Ramo backing up. Raymon is pumped to be back in the home town.
I'm not sure if Engelland is a result of low defence FA, and the ones available signed some fat fucking contracts before... oh well, hopefully he can fill a 2nd/3rd line D role solidly

Built with Chopsticks
I liked the moves today. nothing too big or bold, but can help out quite a bit moving forward.
anyone know if our #4 pick will get to play a few games this season?

Likely depends on his camp and pre-season? I'm hoping he plays well but still gets sent back to juniors. Gain some strength and dominate competition. Oh, and one pull up!Originally posted by SilverRex

GO FLAMES GO!
Flames sign Setoguchi to a 1 year/$750K contract. Hopefully he can bring his San Jose game back.

Not a bad pick up for 750K.. Still a pretty young player and might do really well here in Calgary. Pretty good move by the Flames.Originally posted by D'z Nutz

as someone who watched Winnipeg all season here, lets hope he makes a very big step forward. He was useless most of the year here. 4th line and benched for the back halfOriginally posted by ICEBERG

Agreed completely. As a Jets fan I was glad to see him go.Originally posted by Vmack

His biggest problem was that he had a couple lucky point streaks which kept him on the roster, but then would go 20+ games without a goal.
