Johnny Hockey's assist last night was sick!
The dome was so loud after that goal! I was repping my new Gaudreau Jersey, hes starting to look much better out there, excited for the future of this team! I hope hes ok after falling awkwardly after the assist...Originally posted by DENZILDON

He left the game but came back a couple shifts later.
The kid is fun to watch that's for sure.
Anyone watching the game? It's crazy!
Great game. Only a point, A+ for effort and entertainment value.

Yeah that game was nuts! Gaudreau looked amazing! Jones looked useful! Price and Hiller put on goaltending clinics!! Only bad spots were the 0/7 PP, and the injuries to Colborne and Stajan. I had the biggest lump in my throat when the announcer said "and Giordano is injured" but it was only Wideman and he got right back up.
I hope the rematch on Sunday is just as good.
I was at the game, the atmosphere last night was amazing. Almost every time johnny was on the ice something good would happen.
I forgot how belligerent habs fans can get
But holy crap what a game.... Johnny Hockey is a beauty, making stuff happen every shift and the play never dies on his stick.
I wouldn't say never. He had 2 or 3 turnovers, one was a fancy passes right to the habs upon entering the zone. Still, I'm just being critical, he is pretty exciting to watch.Originally posted by 88CRX

Speaking of being critical, why is Glencross still not benched? The play dies on his stick over 50% of the time, since the first game of the season.

Yea that's right, he had two behind the back passes to nobody... regardless he's got skill to play at the NHL level. Glad he's finally seeing some PP and 4 on 4 time.Originally posted by rage2

And I agree Glencross is a bum. Never skating hard, doesn't hit (unless he's been knocked around) and general just doesn't show any effort out there.
how Glencross ever scored more than 20 goals is beyond me. he doesn't have a quick release, doesn't hit, can't stick handle, isn't a fast skater, etc.
hopefully he waives his NTC and we can get him the fuck out of here.

Hits are the most subjective category of all the stats they keep. Maybe he's rubbing people out of the play more than I think... or maybe I just don't like him as a playerOriginally posted by Quizzes

I agree, it's frustrating when watching him play. Him and Giordano are the last of the Keenan run-and-gun style, but their work ethic are on opposite levels.Originally posted by 88CRX

I was in the attack zone last night and honestly watching glencross play with monahan was rough. He was brutal at moving the puck and was playing with such a chippy attitude that I didn't expect. Flames were on the early PP and he was getting into it on the face off circle for no reason, stupid to disrupt your play or possibly cause a penalty for nothing.
Monahan is more effective with other line mates to utilize his skills. Smid is playing very bad hockey, i don't know if its to do with the engelland pairing... but fuck out of position all the time, bad decisions, poor passing etc.
Goudreau is fun to watch but i think he needs to pass the puck a bit quicker some times and less flash/high risky plays with the passing.
But the biggest point of last night, was the reffing... holy fuck. Phantom trips, multiple bad icing calls, missing the delay of game when price kicked off the net on goudreaus wrap around attempt etc etc.
Really sucks to watch Calgary outplay Montreal that well and outshoot 38-19 and not win. Price played very very well.
We won a couple earlier being outshot 2-1, so it's only fair.Originally posted by colinxx235

Yeah it's too bad he didn't finish on that. Nice move though.
