Shaw internet throttling?

I have a Shaw 25 plan... Not super amounts of bandwidth but still pretty decent... For the last few weeks I've noticed severely reduced internet speed performance during "peak" periods i.e. Evening periods and even more so on Friday/sat nights.

I'm not downloading any torrents, main use is for streaming video like netflix, youtube, etc.

I know shaw says they don't throttle but I don't understand the performance issues. I'm located in Evanston in the NW not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyone else experiencing the same issues?

Really? Another thread on Shaw (or any other provider) internet performance? Could have sworn there was another thread just like this that was quite active in the past 2-3 months.

Sage hill and no slowdowns ever on BB50, always get my ~6 mb/s no matter downloading Netflix etc

LOL I take all precautions and have no issues with Shaw on my 50 connection.

Download over 500gb a month.

i download 300-400gb per month at constant 6.4mb on shaw 50
i get torrents every now maybe a few gigs a month. mainly UFC. im not on no naughty list. that sounds made up. sounds like telus rumor.

Congratulations, you're not on a saturated node, otherwise the bandwidth abuse team would be calling and your packets would be tagged for the naughty queue, if any of your torrents come through unencrypted.
