I need one too, for my mom. The LESS bells/whistles and endless useless apps the better too.

I really liked the Sony Xperia z2 tablet, lightweight and very fast, waterproof to boot (if you need that), but I found 10" tablets too awkward in my hand, so grabbed a cheap Asus 8" one.

Nexus will be the one with least useless apps & crap, as mentioned in my tablet thread, Nexus is just Android, nothing more.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, couldn't be happier. It does have a few more or less useless bells and whistles, like the S-Pen for example. But they're easy to ignore and it works real great for what I need.

Another vote for sony one, waterproof is great if you take it to the beach for example while on vacation to read ebooks ect.

    Nexus is too far away.
I'm looking at galaxy tab pro 10.1 inch or galaxy s 10.5 inch not much of a difference between the two except screen type/size and ram.

But I'll definitely check out that Sony one too

The screen on the new Galaxy S tablets is way better than the Galaxy Pro's, if you go that route get the newest version.

The screen on the Sony tablet is a deal breaker IMO. It's screen is outclasses by 3 year old tablets.

I've got a TabPro 12.2, it's freaking amazing. I was going to get the notepro 12.2 but i figured I already had a note 3, but I really should have gotten the notepro, the S pen would be great on a larger screen for writing notes or doing precision stuff. That being said I'm completely happy with my tablet and would recommend any of the galaxy stuff.

If you take anything I have to say seriously, you're gunna have a bad time.

Cheap, fetch the old Nexus 10.

Kinda Cheap, Galaxy Pro 10 is about $70 off MSRP right now but stock running out fast.

Galaxy S is the new one but it is basically Galaxy Pro with 8 core proc (longer battery life) and 1 more GB of RAM.

+1 on the Sony. Great unit, they aren't bloated up like the Samsung.

The screen is such a key part of tablet use/enjoyment, you may not want to settle for 3-year-old resolution. The difference between 1920X1080 and 2560X1600, for example, is extremely noticeable even on 10" screens. Grab one of the higher res tablets, like the newer Samsungs or a Nexus 10 if you want zero bloatware.

Not too keen on the nexus 10
I can install a different launcher and get the same vanilla android experience if the Samsung launcher is that shitty lol
And like mitsu said I'd rather have the better screen from the recent Samsung's.

Looks like Samsung pushed out a shit load of tablets in the last year haha

Also I'm sure u can root the Samsung tablet and uninstall the Samsung bloat like u can with their phones if it bothers me too much?
