Based on the ridiculous amount of money printing (well into the tripling or 300%) the US stock market is only doing slightly better than treading water.

The other theory is also sound. Lawyers and bankers have been siphoning off dollars into their own hands.
With their experience, past a certain $ point the "take the money and run", recinding, renouncing, or simply becoming a citizen of a country that does not have high taxes and then dropping their US affiliation.
