Comparing an E46 M3 to a E92 M3, I would say the E92 is savage.
Comparing the E82 M1 to the F20 M2, there is nothign savage about that.

No one is calling your m3 a sissy car, but the 1m is savage. EVERYONE says this.
Not to mention manual only, less nannies etc.
M2 will likely be much softer due to how the m235i and/or the F series is... Even on the new m3/4.
