    Default Help! Mechanic Needed

    Hey guys,

Sadly, I'm not mechanically inclined in the least and am having an issue with my 2007 Cobalt's driver side rear wheel.

It's currently parked on the street by my place in McKenzie Towne and the rear brake seems to be completely seized up. The vehicle has been sitting for a few months at the very least. Tried breaking it free (giving the drum a few whacks with the ol' hammer, as well as moving it forward and back in reverse/1st gear), but to no avail. The right side seems to be just fine, though.

Long story short, I'm looking for a reasonable mechanic that I can get this thing towed to; preferably in the South East to save on towing cost. Last resort is getting the dealership to fix it, however I'd really like to not pay them my first born child and my left nut to have it fixed.

Anyway, thanks for the help in advance.

    Cheers,
    Nolan

Just give it some more force or what did you do to get it fixed?

Yeah, like Jeepers said: Jacked the car up, took the wheels off and hammered on the drums a bit to free up some of the rust. Got the cover off and then cleaned up the inside of the drum a bit.

Haha, well everything is looking good now. Heading out to my folks place this weekend and will have plenty more tools and garage space to take the wheels off and clean everything up, no that it's all moving again. Probably due for some new brake pads on the front calipers anyhow, so might as well change those out while I'm at it!

EDIT: Suppose it's time I finally start to accrue some useful tools myself. Haha.
