Default Anyone know how to fix a dishwasher?

My dishwasher just took a shit. Basically, water is filling up the reservoir but the pump is not spurting out the water to the jets. I took it apart and saw that the pump was not moving at all but I also tested the leads and there was no current going to it either so if the pump itself is stuffed, it looks like it'll be around 150 to replace but if it's the electronics, I'm not sure how much that would be but I can only imagine it'd be quite pricey too.

Any ideas on how to test the electronics properly just in case I did it wrong? Also, if I need to buy a new dishwasher, do we have any hookups in the forum?

A good quiet dishwasher is in the 500-700 range. Or you can buy a cheap one... It's up to you what you want.

Even cheap scratch and dent $150 now have built in garborators and digital settings (no stupid f*&king timer dials that don't work).

I'd never bother to fix a dishwasher anymore unless it was well over $500.

Also, I've never had a dishwasher (even for $150) that is loud enough to bother me. Who runs the dishwasher when they are home anyways??

I got a 50db whirlpool from trail appliances for $300 and its awesome - stainless steel tub etc. The nearest bosch was $700 and had steel sides and plastic top and bottom.

I'm sure they do. But that' doesn't make them quiet.. and if it's the choice between spending $150 and an hour to fix a dishwasher vs spending $500 for a new one... well.. *shrug*

Most people run dishwashers when they are home, especially if they have a quiet one, like mine. You barely know it's running except for a faint swish swish noise.

Yeah, you guys are looking like you're onto something here because I took it apart and found out that there's juice going to the motor but it's not running/spinning so I looked up the part number and the price ranges from 100-200 bux just for the motor/pump. I can install it but still, if a I can grab a new dishwasher for 300, I'll do that and not have to worry about this crap!
