    Default 2014 Gran Premio D'italia

I predict Hamilton taking out Nico somewhere along the race

If Hamilton is even close to Rosberg. I'm pretty sure Hamilton will be somehow starting from the pits due to some reliability issues.

EDIT: Lotterer refuses Kobayashi's seat again in Monza due to Roberto Merhi getting Friday practice sessions.

Verstappen has already crashed an F1 car in testing.

Best quote from the past 2 weeks:

"In my opinion," he is quoted by Italy's La Stampa, "Lewis Hamilton is the best driver.

"I don't know what problems Vettel is having this year, but I have not changed my mind about him -- he is not the best.

"It is others who have to change their opinion," Alonso added.

Will definitely be fun to watch. It would be crazy if he still wins the championship after all the this. Be even crazier if somehow Ricciardo wins it.

Problems continue for Hamilton in FP2. Hydraulic issue limited his running

Going to take a gamble and say whoever wins this race (Lewis or Nico) wins the championship. I think a victory here would do enough psychological damage to the other side to make the rest of the season a struggle.

If reliability weren't a concern I'd agree with you, but we're still in a situation where anything can happen with any car.

^ agreed, reliability plus power unit grid penalties makes it far from over.
If it's 1-2 for Mercedes the rest of the season, Lewis would need 1st for all 7 of the remaining races to win the WDC.

I guess I'll rephrase it to say barring any major mechanical failures.

Should be interesting, If Lewis is on form I don't doubt that he can pull it off. I think this is absolutely going to go down to the last race and therefore be highly controversial because of this double points bullshit.

Yeah, my only hope is that the double points doesn't have a significant (or any) impact on the championships.

Lots of great overtaking today. Championship worthy drives by Riciardo and Bottas.

Your math is off. After today, 3 more 1-2's with Ham in the lead and the gap closes to 1 point.

Enjoyed the driving from Lewis, Valtteri, and Daniel. Bad day for McLaren and I felt bad for Kevin's undeserved penalty. Poor Button just couldn't keep Perez behind, but it was entertaining.

    Edit: fix my marth lol

He can afford 1 race (not the last) losing out to Rosberg if all races were 1-2.

Regardless, it doesn't really matter, as reliability is going to play a key role here. Lewis is 1 engine down on Rosberg due to his engine fire that killed a fresh engine. Not to mention on the tighter courses like Singapore it's a lot harder to get a 1-2. A bad start will fuck over that driver pretty badly.

The math is 6x7pts=42pts-29=13pts going into the last race. Since the last race is worth a 14pt gap, Lewis would obviously have to win it to capture the WDC assuming 1-2 the rest of the way.

Agreed, I think 1-2 the rest of the way is far fetched due to reliability.

I can't believe they allowed a fan to troll the podium with a flag again, after last year.

And that Nico and Lewis actually humored the person and SIGNED it. What's to stop more people from trying that crap next year?
