One Dad’s Twitter Photo Essay on His Daughter’s Perilous Walk to School - this is a Calgary family but it really needs to be noted that this family opted to send their child to an out-of-district French immersion school (19 blocks away) instead of the regular local K-6 English school located some 5 blocks away.
So the guy is ranting about the supposed dangerous route his 9 year old daughter has to undertake in order to walk to school which is a direct result of a choice her parent's made in their daughter's education - I don't have any sympathy for this family because their choice of schools made their daughter's walk to school that much more dangerous.

Please note that my three children all attended their designated CBE public schools from grade 1-12 and three were within a 4 block walking distnace to our house. The fourth was under a 1.5km walk but they also had busing available to them because we were just outside of the walk zone - on any nice days though (winter included) they usually walked or cycled to school.
I suppose this is why I have some difficulty in feeling sympathy for this family as their choices have meant a much longer walking route to their daughter's school - better yet is how this father doesn't conveniently tell all, he's especially good at showing the bad side of the streets and not the good sides. Such a skewed story.
