Friends I hunt with who have a place just north of Ft St John, right on the BC/AB border, which is a hunting lodge/outfitter sort of set up deal, have 8 Elk tags according to my friend that owns the place. Plus other stuff. Should be good times. .300 winmag custom built rifle with Nightforce optics, good laser RF, Kestrel, and some thermal optics (just for spotting, as using them to shoot in low light conditions would make the conservation cops to lose their minds). It's a solid 1/2 MOA rifle, easy, I've done even better with it, and the barrel isn't even at it's midpoint of life.
Next week should be fun. Problem is the extra large freezer I bought in the fall is already 75% full, as a family member has a cattle ranch, and we got 2 sides of beef (different cows) from them for an incredibly good price, and I have no space for anything harvested. Might have to make space for another freezer.
I want to get into archery more going forward. Been flinging arrows a lot lately, just at targets though. It's a ton of fun, probably my 2nd most fav type of shooting next to CQB handgunning.
