Isn't that the most common method for people to get rich? (on the backs of others)

Yeah for sure. Most easily executed when you can just steal it off somebody rich though.

Working for a living is massively overrated.

I hope the person that invented heated steering wheels is filthy rich. Unless CBC said so, then never mind.

I had a heated wheel this past winter and I think I used it twice.
How many times did you leave your car outside, and use it several hours later?

One of the only downsides to being rich is vulnerability and the number of people who will use and take advantage of you.
I can confirm that this has nothing to do with being rich, and everything to do with people just being scum.

Nope, couldn't afford that luxury trim level. One day baby.
Had a 2003 Maxima with a heated steering wheel and this is almost 20 yrs later and this tech is too expensive an option for most?!

I won’t even consider a car without a heated steering wheel.
    This.

The first vehicle I owned that had it was a 2003 Nissan Maxima and when I bought it (used) I didn't even know that was a thing. Found it a few weeks later and loved it.

I actually just had this conversation with my 8 year old son - how for some people who have money, getting MORE money becomes an obsession.

    Such a shame.

Almost as shameful as people who don’t have money obsessing over getting more money.

Money and the pursuit of it is sinful. I’ll help you out though, you can just give it to me to ease your burden.

2 times total, and the car is street parked.

I spotted your unedited version of this and was like "Wow! You know the same praise-the-Lord-house-salesman that I do?!? Small world!".

I don't know that this narrow focus with the next level of success is exclusive to financial accomplishments though. Look at athletes, the high school track star focuses on making the GOOD university team and the college star focuses on making the Olympics an the Olympian focuses on being the best in the world and winning the gold medal. In the end what is the real world benefit of being the college star vs. the Olympian? Nothing that I can see, it just all becomes a game with a score and a ranking, some people just like / want / need to win and financial success is an arena that provides that measuring stick. It's just another way to keep score and see who is winning.

The other side of is that there are plenty of people who don't push themselves to get to that next level. One day they look around, are fully satisfied and kick thier feet up.

In sports, or finances, or careers. Happens a lot.

You may never, and that's OK. Some others would probably have already done it with your current situation, and that's OK too.

18 year olds who put a monthly McD paycheque on GME because it was a really funny meme stonk, are really showing off the boomers who spent a lifetime trying to buy a house.

Upward mobility is important, but what we have right now is straight up russian roulette gambling.

"some" people? More like most people. If people arent obsessed with money, there wouldnt be be so many multi millionaires or billionaires. They could be happy on a beach/yacht with just a few million.
