However, Jens was not serious about this attempt and this was nothing but a publicity attempt. Ever since the UCI changed the rules for the hour record all it would have taken was a decent pro cyclist to break the record with the new unified rules/equipment. If Jens was serious he would have picked a different track (mexico..mercx et al.) and put more prep into it.

While Cancellara/Wiggins/Wiggo would be cool to see, the biggest beast in cycling right now is the Panzerwagen. I'm just going to leave this link here...he pushed a 58/11 ratio at the TT in the tdf.

Yeah no doubt, I'm sure someone else will be making the attempt soon and it will be broken again. But still can't imagine riding 50+ kph for an entire hour
