    Default Google's 'Inbox by Gmail'

    http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/10...or-the-moment/

I'd love an invite if anyone gets one to give out. Let's post them up and use this as an invite thread. Perhaps also try emailing for an invite as per the post.

Have you already emailed [email protected]?

I did, and they responded that they would send me an invite shortly.

I did and this is the response
Thanks for requesting an invite. We'll send you one as soon as possible.

    Your friends at Gmail
But who knows what as soon as possible means. It's certainly possible for Google to have sent me the invite now, but they didn't. So I assume there will be a queue and a wait.

Google Wave all over again or what is this?
Seems like it's a social media inbox. Not an email system for mail.

I want it for the todo list. I've yet to find (not trying hard) a good todo/task app that integrates well. This will do it.

Using Google Inbox: this feels like the future of email

It has nothing to do with social networking. It's for email.

So like Outlook in that you can set follow up times, etc?

There is clearly just an autoreply set up for that email saying they will send you one shortly, I wonder if it just adds people to a big list for when they want to release it to the first wave.

I think thats the point, its not another email system. Email is inherently flawed in many ways. Is it a communication system? Is it for transferring files? Is it a reminder system? All of these things email can do but email does them all very poorly. I don't know if this is the solution but its an attempt at it.

My 10 year prediction is that email as we know it will die a slow painful death, its the modern day fax machine.

I recently discovered (and love) Google Keep, a cloud based note pad, but it does to do lists too, just no reminders. I like being able to copy and paste large amounts of text between PC and phone.

Fax machines are unfortunately far from death, we still have over 100 in use , but I get what you mean

One HUGE thing i think Keep is missing is collaborative lists/notes and the ability to forward them to other Keep users. Its SUCH a pain when my wife makes a grocery list but has to email it in text format.

Yeah if you could choose other Google accounts to share your keep notes with that would be bomb like how you can share calendars

How long did it take you guys to get invites from Google? I sent in the email a couple of days ago but still haven't received one. Wonder if hey are still sending them out.

I sent a pm to spike98 have haven't heard anything back yet. If someone has a invite they'd be willing to share would be glad to receive it.

    Thanks
