He only has to pay $225, seems like he got the better dealOriginally posted by M.alex
I hate assholes like you who think they're above paying for parking. If I can pay $600/mth to park downtown, why can't you?

Signature..... I ate it!!
600/month vs $0 for 3 days. Still comes out ahead.
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
Until he parks in a westpark lot again and ends up towed until the fines are paid, plus tow charge.Originally posted by FraserB

Not worth the hassle.
I have had my vehicle towed once.. never again. The inconvenience is huge, giant waste of time.

Can't remember with who, but my wife once got a parking ticket from one of the companies here in Calgary, as the payment machine wasn't working.
I think the ticket was $30 or something, and I ended up going to the office and just paying the $3 that I would have paid had their machine worked (Honestly I don't know if it was the machine or user error) but they had no problem accepting $3 versus $30.
This reminds of one time I got a Westpark ticket after leaving my car downtown overnight think I went to a show at roundup or something. Well it had snowed over night and the Westpark guy was kind enough to clear off my windshield for me before leaving the ticket. Of course I never did pay for said ticket and have never heard anything come of it.
A co-worker had around 10 impark tickets over a few months. He wrote them $10 cheque, and sent it in. I think he wrote a note on the cheque that said something like "if you cash this cheque, then you agree to clear all my impark tickets". They cashed it, and he never heard from them again
I believe they are only legally entitled to the parking fee missed and not the fine. Fine and collection agency is just fear tactic to get you to pay.Originally posted by triplep

So if OP missed 3 daily rate and daily rate is $35, he only legally owe $105. Not a single dime more.
And if OP can prove when he was in and out, he can probably argue on hourly rate too.
Street parking is free after 6pm. I've always wondered why people pay to park in a lot in the evenings unless they're worried about their vehicle being damaged.

have you tried to find street parking in downtown Calgary on Friday or Sat evening after 6pm around popular resturants?
Drive around in circles for 30 min or pony up the money to park in a lot.
Other factors are: gf/wife complaining they're not walking that far and we're already late, etc. etc. haha.
Before you claim to pay that much, how much is subsidized by your company? Not everybody can afford $600/month for parking... ballerOriginally posted by M.alex

Got one awhile ago. They're threatening to send to collections agency.
Figure the best idea is send a cheque for $5 with the same note as someone posted above. "if you cash this cheque, then you agree to clear all my Indigo parking tickets".
Thoughts? Are people still not paying these fines?
"Collections" Is just another arm of their own company. Credit bureaus have no interest in private parking tickets.
Thanks.
As stated numerous times, there is no need to pay. They can take all the "legal action" they want and send it to their in house collections, but all that you get out of it is annoying calls and letters. Next time your plate is up for renewal, tell the registry that your numbers are faded or cracked, and they will provide you with a new plate. This effectively wipes your slate clean with all unpaid private parking tickets.
