Default Low Cost Lawyer for House Purchase?

Is Your Lawyer still the cheapest game in town?

I know there's more to a lawyer than their price but lets keep this thread focused solely on price.

I called a couple about a month ago and they all charged a base fee of about $750 plus the extra costs associated (courier, photocopying, etc).

Your lawyer is probably the cheapest still as long as you give them sufficient time to close. With rush fees it becomes about the same as everyone else.

They're asking $900, after disbursements, whereas the builder's lawyer had quoted me $1600. So, it looks like I'm back with Your Lawyer.

Try calling William (Bill) Plettl, he took care of me and was on the cheaper side of everyone that I called.

What builder are you using that doesn't do this for free?

Calbridge didn't do it for free for me.

I used Clark and Clark (as recommended by Jordan) and i was $1300 all in after everything. This also included the release letter from the city that I had to pay for.

$1200-$1300 was what I ended up paying for the purchase of my current house.

Damn, I am glad my neighbor is a lawyer and took care of this for free. I better get him a real nice bottle of scotch once I take possession.
