This is a peeve of mine too. Hotels that advertise phone-as-key, and my phone has the functionality, and I have the app, and I have everything I need to do it, but the hotel hasn't installed the door hardware to allow it. HOW THE FUCK DOESN"T YOUR SYSTEM KNOW THAT???

We're angry about it for different reasons. I don't think it's my job to supply hardware for their hotel, and I don't want other people's shit on my phone. And the boldness of it. "It's time to let me go." Like fuck it is.

Old router was a one piece, had dual band wireless

New router isn't wireless, comes with a separate wireless hub that needs an app to access and setup and doesn't have proper dual band so I had to buy a 2.4ghz WAP to run my smarthome stuff

Story of my life and it drives me nuts. I have a few guys who I am sure have a weekly reminder set up to text me asking to meet up that week. One guy constantly asks for my "field personnel contact list" so he can call them and keep them in the loop of what their company has. Not a chance dude.

I read something (I'm not going to bother looking it up to cite it) that basically said the physiological processes in your brain when you have a pet but no kids are remarkably similar to when you have kids. The pet/no kid ppl just have their bar set lower for the chemical releases with stress/joy/whatever, but the effect is almost the same as those with kids. So the "opening of your eyes" is actually your brain just re-baselining it's physiological response process.

Of course, I'm not suggesting they're actually the same. Animals are disposable and easily replaceable, relative to children. But I am not as critical of the middle age fur baby people as I was before - their brains are just programmed differently.
