The current schedule is 170$ per tonne by 2030. Which equates to 8.94$ per GJ of carbon tax ... going to be absolute bullshit for all the prairies.

It'll also add 37.5 cents per L to fuel. sigh.
Wow. Just wow. Fuck these guys.

So for the measurement that happened in Dec, we used 34.38 GJ which amounted to $380.08 with all the fees and riders, or $11.06 per GJ.

Carbon Levy is currently $2.63 a GJ.

All else remaining the same, my bill will be $597.06 for the 34.38GJ or $17.36 per GJ.

Global warming can't come soon enough.

Exactly. Don’t forget the second carbon tax coming for fuel.

    Haha - what a nightmare.

For these kinds of taxes, I want free schooling for folks.

Seems like AB provincial gov't reduces their taxes to offset that federal carbon tax till July 1.
Then the secondary carbon tax, I can't find definite answers.
    Just this:
"The taxpayers’ federation also says clean fuel regulations set to take effect on July 1, 2023 are expected to increase the price of gas. Those regulations will require gasoline and diesel producers and importers to reduce the carbon intensity of their fuel."

yet, our gov't want to help us with inflation by inflating the cost of fuel, that inflates the cost of transport that inflates everything else. round and round we go.

Higher taxes causes a rise in the demand for money by the gov't, which also causes inflation.

Working your bag off is clearly the issue.

No. It goes up by 3c per litre on April 1st (from 11c/L to 14c/L). Still 100% bullshit, of course, and then there's the 2nd carbon tax coming on July 1st.

Yeah but the stations won't let a go opportunity like this go to waste. We've seen it time and time again.

UCP halts fuel taxes that are 13c? Increase pump price by 13c.

Carbon tax goes up by 3c? Increase pump price by 6c.

Yes, because by liberal logic, punishing people for using fossil fuels even though its for essential activities will result in people switching to another mode such as EV, which are fed by the grid, that uses fossil fuels and therefore will also be punished by carbon tax which will then force people to switch to another mode such as the bus, which are powered by fossil fuels that have carbon tax, thereby forcing people to switch to another mode such as bicycles, which are then re-appropriated by societal equity officers (crackheads) which then force people to switch to another mode such as walking.

    Climate change solved.
