Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
I have elec renewing next month. Wonder if I should lock in fixed 12.79 sooner before I risk it going higher in July... Hmm
So far floating gas and locked in electricity from november is working well.
Maybe I'll have a chance to lock cheaper gas in later this summer....
Gas is much less important than electricity.

I still maintain keeping locked in Gas through the summer is potentially a very cheap option premium for nasty winter pricing.

Thats what I went with. I'd rather just keep my lower locked in rate then roll the dice come fall time. The savings are minimal all through the summer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yup. I'm not gonna leave my $4.09 gas just to pay more in the winter. Easy risk mitigation unless you had a fixed rate closer to the current fixed in which case I'd go floating. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I should add... I didn't have the choice to lock gas in cheap due to new house move during high gas prices.
Summer power prices to surge for Albertans on regulated rate plans

Albertans always complain about their delivery fees being higher than usage. Easy fix, raise rates.

I noticed my bills getting higher lately for electricity even on fixed rate. Lame.

Not as bad as would have guessed. But it was pretty obvious they were deferring the low 20 cents in the winter so that they could charge more in the summer. Evil or just prudent planning?
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Floating rate expected to jump to 31.8c next month. Enmax 5yr fixed is still holding at 12.79c for those who haven’t locked in or have plans expiring soon.

6.xx per kwh until next october. It'll be interesting to see where rates are then.

Good call. Also looks like peak was only 1720MW for the few hours we had 33 Celsius. Disaster averted!
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
So if I'm on the floating enmax power rate I'm an idiot, right? I should switch to the fixed 12.79 rate meow?
I don't understand why anyone would want to be on floating power.
Should've switched a year or two ago. But yeah, switch to fixed today without a doubt. There's no penalty to flip back to floating at any point if you choose, just need to give them 30 days notice. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The only reason to not be on fixed is if its not an option (People with poor/no credit fall into that)
