Not sure what Cascade G1 stands for, but 81 MW is showing up on main chart.

That the new plant just outside of Edson, they are still in the commissioning stages so you'll see them making MWs off and on for awhile. They are a one on one gas fired combined cycle facility, meaning that one gas turbine on one steam turbine times 2. What makes this place a little different it's a single generator for GT and ST, kinda newer technology from Siemens.

I swapped back to floating gas, seems prices are crashing
    Yes.
My plan is to wait this into summer and then hopefully lock in low.
New idea is keep renewing, even if it's at the same price. Then you can maximize duration of the good lock in price.
This goes for gas or electricity.

Made the mistake of locking in and seeing the next month being the same electric fixed price and not renewing. Cutting myself out of another low price of fixed electricity.

Yea I bet the gas companies are too stoopid to understand seasonality.

was going to swap to floating, but it saves all of $1 / gj when they add the 1.29 back to it. Would have saved all of $20 last month. Not sure worth the risk that it goes back up and i forgot to swap back to fixed

Appears they use rolling 12 for fixed pricing. Expecting fixed to keep dropping into the summer and of course variable to reduce more.

Not everyone's driving low costs to everyday life and gaming this.

My fixed is expiring in October so holding wont have any value for next winter. Float away for the summer baby!

    Henry Hub is absolutely hammered.

Not sure why, but less than $1 US seems within reach. Free for few hours not off the table.

Enmax floating gas confirmed at $1.72 per GJ in Feb (plus $1.23 per GJ "transaction fee")

Shockingly low price considering the short but brutal cold blasts.

Cascade #1 looks like it might finally be ramping up to full power.

Cascade has been starting and stopping a lot for 2 months now. Guessing it's a part of regular commissioning but it seems like a lot of 4-6 hour runs and then back offline constantly. Curious if they're running into more issues than expected.

Today is an exciting day though, Genesee 1 is offline for good which wipes out half of our remaining coal production. #2 is set to swap over in early June.

Phew, soon climate change will stop once the USA decommissions their remaining 217 coal plants.

Ha ha, wow. They're pitching it on FB as 7.77 for the life of the term.
