So do I. Assuming there's no reliability issues, he just might take it.

I think on Yas Hamilton has the edge. Pole will be important though because Rosberg is good enough to make it damn hard to pass...

Rosberg needs to win, with Hamilton finishing 7th or lower to be considered the real 2014 F1 champion. Any other way where Rosberg wins the championship will be a double points BS fiasco where it will blow up all over the internet for generations to come.

With that being said, for the permutations for a Rosberg double points WDC win...

Ros needs 5th place with Ham finishing 10th or lower.
Ros needs 4th place with Ham finishing 9th or lower.
Ros needs 3rd place with Ham finishing 7th or lower.
Ros needs 2nd place with Ham finishing 6th or lower.
Ros needs 1st place with Ham finishing 3rd or lower.

I'm hoping Rosberg wins it because of the double points and a huge backlash ensues. This season needs to be made an example of what not to do.

Yea i had it in my head for some reason that winner takes all ( ie they were close enough that with double points whoever took first would clinch) i was out to lunch.

Looks like Hamilton should have this then unless his car busts.

It will be a Mercedes 1-2 unless one of them breaks down or crashes. If Rosberg somehow wins the title, people will bitch about it no matter how it happens.

I kind of want to see Rosberg win just because of the shitstorm that would ensue lol. I just don't see it happening though.

Don't agree at all. I think their current livery (is that the word?) looks awful. I much preferred the Vodafone orange & chrome.

    Wtf is SAP anyway?

Everybody's running with this story but nobody has any actual confirmation double points is being dropped. All we get is this:
“I’m not going to propose the three races again. I’m going to let them get on with it. I don’t know what we’re going to do next year.”

    BBC article from Bernie

F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone doubts if the "stupid" scenario of double points being awarded at the final race of the season will continue next year.
Ecclestone had wanted double points at the final three races of the season but the teams, who he called "bloody idiots", did not go for the plan.
"I'm not going to propose the three races again," he told the Independent.
"I'm going to let them get on with it. I don't know what we're going to do next year."
Briton Lewis Hamilton leads the drivers' standings by 17 points from Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg going into the last race of the campaign in Abu Dhabi on 23 November.
If Rosberg wins, Hamilton will need to finish second to take the title. Under the old system, sixth would have been enough.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said: "It would put a big shadow over the championship if it was turned by a technical issue."
However, Ecclestone accused the teams of thinking about the "short term" in not agreeing to his original plan of double points for three races.
"One race is stupid but imagine if it was the last three races," he said. "It means that somebody would have to have a 150-point advantage minimum to be sure they will win.
"The teams have not accepted it because they are bloody idiots. They are all mechanics. They think of their team in the short term."
Seems like he is still supportive but that the idea will die. Basically he doesn't want anyone clinching the championship with 5 races to go lol.

This double points completely sucks. I want Lewis to wing but I agree with Martin Brundle. Some thing crazy is going to happen,

ERP system that can run on Oracle or SQL as DB backend.

Oracle's is a direct competitor in the ERP space when they bought Peoplesoft which also owns JDE.

In ERP space, SAP is #1, Oracle bought its way into #2.

The concept of double points seemed a bit more palatable if there was ONE driver running away with the championship (like vettel did). But as soon as you have two or more close contenders, it no longer works.
