Default US: No such thing as an illegal immigrant anymore.

    OK. Executive action. Little scary.

My conspirative mind: They want to make sure that everyone is legal so that they are trackable and US taxable. FATCA was not so much for immediate gain from fines (which will be considerable) but to force expats to not be able to have savings accounts with non-US nations that may be paying from 2 to 6% interest. They want to force people to bank with the US, and take a negative 1.0% rate for life or longer, if they should go that route.

As is right now, illegal workers in the US have a distinct advantage over taxpaying legals.

So exactly how does a an illegal immigrant prove they've been in the US for over 5 years?

Do they get their employer who was paying them illegally, and avoiding taxes, to provide a letter of proof?

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I think there are far sinister motives for this.
The US spends billions to subsidizing its farmers and prices that food really cheap so to flood countries with it, like Mexico and Haiti, decimating its agricultural sector and destroying millions of peoples livelihoods with food as a weapon. Then these immigrants have no choice but to find jobs that pay something.

    Letting these immigrants freely cross the border and now become citizens of the US has been a long strategic plan to;
    1 drive down wages
    2 cause division
3 drive up competition for the few jobs that are left.

I learned this from the following video past the 41min mark.

Edit; she also claims that 20 million are in the US illegally, not 11.

The whole point is made all illegal legal so all the Republican strongholds in the south will be stocked with enough Democrat voters in time for 2016.

Yep. If you can't win on your policies, just create enough new voters that you win that way, even if those new voters are criminals. And everyone knows that they will do nothing but vote Democrat.

As opposed to all the republican sponsored voter suppression laws? If you want to cry about stacking the deck you have to cry about both sides stacking it...not just the stacking that you don't agree with.

    Exactly which laws are these?

If you're talking about voter ID, then it's a completely invalid argument. Ensuring someone is actually eligible to vote doesn't suppress voters or infringe on the rights of those who actually have them. What it does is keep ineligible people from casting a ballot, which for some reason is a problem for some people.

Edit: Upon looking at the order further, it doesn't provided citizenship, just a work permit. So illegal immigrants still would not be able to vote. The problem is that it will just encourage more illegal immigration.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Repulicans need maidservants and janitors too. Arugably there are more undocumented illegals in those areas, whereas in California they don't even bother to try to be legal (or hide from public view)

If they wanted to fix it, they would have built a wall.

Any thought that reason for this is a distinct political advantage that Blue or Red gain over each other through this mess is laughable.

In the ludicrous 2 party system of so called democracy, both parties will do the same things, vote in the same bills, pass the same laws, violate the same parts of the constitution, restrict the same freedoms, spy on the same people, get in bed with the same corporations, start the same wars, bail out the same banks, give out the same entitlements, support the same invasive financial regs (FATCA), go into the same amount of debt.

If you think there's any issues bigger than the above that are actually decided on by whom gets voted in, you are still fast asleep.

This immigration thing is merely a sideshow meant to keep everyone arguing among themselves, like abortion, gay marriage, and Treyvon while the water is slowly brought to a simmer.
