Nothing would be accomplished by going to FN land. Except maybe the return of smoking sections haha. There is zero benefit for TT to subsidize an arena. That's the equivalent of Calgary building C-Trains to the deep south so that Okotoks residents can use it. Oh wait...

For an entertainment district in Grey Eagle area to work, they'll have to fix the roads/access infrastructure first. Well, the city has to not bottleneck their entrance, but good luck with Lakeview NIMBY's being dicks. If you've ever been to a concert there where attendance is a whopping 3000 packed attendees, you'll realize that you need to show up hours in advance not to get gridlocked and miss the show.

I guess there will be a new stoney trail or Tsuu Tina Trail entrance as part of the land swap deal, anyone know where that's located?

Apparently Houston is making waves that they would be interested in housing the flames in their arena. The Astro's new owner has said he's interested in securing an NHL franchise, which would put the flames on the list of potential candidates.

Not sure if it's been talked about in this thread or not (sorry) but they were talking about it on 960 on my way home last night.

It's the Rockets new owner, Tillman Fertitta. Lots of rumors down here about NHL, but moving the Flames doesn't make sense compared to moving the Coyotes, Canes etc.

One of the reasons why Olympics cost so much.

Everybody wants to push through their wishlist items as event critical. There's really no reason that curling would have to be in the Fieldhouse, except to justify the spending on it for the Olympics, but not really, because 'we want to build it anyway.'

Yea not sure how this is relevant to the flames? The articles I’ve read say it’s to add an additional team to the nhl to bring the total from 31 to 32. Therefore no current team would be moved
