Everyone is jacking up their rates lol.. which is no surprise as bandwidth usage increases they need to increase hardware and the means.

Don't like it? Go without internet.

Another tidbit I found out tonight, Shaw discontinued their BB250 plan. Those that have it are grandfathered.

Yeah I asked and not enough people were using bb250. I think fifty is going up five and one hundred is going up like nine or something. Boooo on hard caps though since their allotments are so low

That happen 4 or maybe 6 months ago... suddenly dropped from the website, no warning... people who do have it are grandfathered (BB250+unlimited too ) for now!

I've been waiting for BB250... they pulled analog so they could have more bandwith to provide higher speeds but that didn't happen... and no increase to 10 up for BB100

I doubt upstream is going to go up it cost a lost more than downstream...

Hard caps on usage or speed? I've been pretty happy with speed so far on my BB50 plan, and I have yet to reach even 2/3 of my monthly usage.

Maybe if they had it available in more areas, ugh...

I've been calling once every 3 months asking to upgrade, still waiting on "Infrastructure Updates".

I don't care about the price jacks, as long as it does actually result in them updating/upgrading their network faster.

I agree! It's nice it it's always constant though (I ALWAYS get 5 up, no matter what), but wish I had more.

I used to do BB100+ during the winter months, and BB25 during the summer.

But now its more like two months heavy, two months cheapy.

I like the 100+ becuase then its netflix holiday without any worries.

I check my usage and even with 2 netflix addicts in the house ( 4+ hours a day each sometimes) i have never come close to saturating the BB50 cap.

What makes me come closer is Digital XBox One downloads on months with a couple games i want.

I'm not sure why so many people are wanting more upload. I can understand if you work from home or host a game server or something but 5 up is far more than enough for most people and if they increase their upload for the plans it will hurt everyone on a large scale.

I have never saturated my upload in my life... Even when i hosted a dedicated game server for a buddy one time who had a satellite connection.

Maybe in 5-10 years it will all be LTE, and then we can be a slave to those respective companies and start the cycle all over again.

Shaw hasn't increased that much when you consider that High Speed was $40 back in 1998/1999 (I don't remember what the speeds were), and now its $55 for the basic 10.

Torrents only rely on upload when you are sharing not downloading. And even when you share a torrent its not using that much of your upload stream at all.

I download tons of torrents and seeding plenty of them and even on my BB50 I don't come anywhere near saturating my upload stream.

Yea i know but you can seed as much as you want. uTorrent had the option to dial in a max up and it would saturate if there was enough demand. Where there usually was.

I stopped torrenting years ago. I have a job now
