rant: liar salesbros at Visions

I walked into Visions on 32nd ave today to buy a remote starter for my car. I walked up to the car audio counter and asked for the autostart that's on sale. The Salesbro asks "are you getting it installed here?" I told him I'll be installing it myself and he says "we're sold out of those ones". I ended up grabbing some othet things from the store and while paying, I asked the guy at the front to check if any other stores have that autostart model in stock and turns out that location still has many in stock. Fucking liar should eat a dick instead of lie. What a sack of shit. Is it policy to not sell you something if it's not going to be installed there?

I don't shop at Visions. I was buying an LCD back the day and was going store to store to get the best price. I walk into the Sony store and didn't even start talking before they dropped the price, found out bestbuy doesn't barter, went to Visions, and then bought at Futureshop who gave us a wicked deal compared to them all.

The Visions trip went like this:
"Hi, I'd like to look at the Sony XBR 52" LCD"
"That's our best model sir, really nice, blah blah"
"Yea, I'd like to get one, what's your best price on that one?"
"Um, let me check the tag...yea $XXXX list price"
"You can't do any better than the price tag?"
"Nope"
"Cya"

$4500 spent at Futureshop that day and a few thousand since and Visions can kiss my ass.

A handful of products go below cost when they're on sale under the assumption that accessories or add-ons will be sold as well. If somebody wants to buy that product without add-ons then neither the salesman or the company make any money.

You may be upset that he chose not to sell you something for zero commission, and you may even say "Well they lost a customer for life, that'll cost them more" or some shit. He doesn't care. Visions doesn't care.

Every salesman I've ever worked with would have done the same thing and it's just something you have to deal with during sales like these.

I was actually going to buy 2 starters, 2 bypass modules and whatever else id need for the install. How hard would it be for him to give me thosr and send me on my merry way instead of lieing and saying they don't have anymore in stock? I was going to buy a dvd deck that wasn't on sale and harnesses etc but oh well, I'll buy them elsewhere.

i have the other side of the story. last year 2 days before black Friday i went in to look at the receiver i was gonna get on black Friday.
as i was telling the salesbro i was coming back on blackfriday to get the sale. they price matched themselves and i got it there with no one in the store but me. didn't have to come back and wait out the line. thought that was great.

just ordered a 40" plasma for my computer monitor also from visions. and got my sharp 70" years ago on boxing day.

you just have to be careful and make sure there "sale" isnt on MSRP but a sale compared to other stores.

Hahaha... "Salesbros" Never heard that before but I totally get what your talking about.

Interesting stories about them in this thread. I have gotten some decent deals on TV/Home theatre by bartering with those bros. I had to present myself like "one of their own." Try and break into the exclusive club.

I deal with this kind of thing on a weekly basis. The sales person's suggestions and tone does a 180 degree flip when I tell them I'm a computer tech.

Take the extended warranty, as that will make the sales dude the most money, but get him / her to lower the price and throw in some stuff in return.
