    Default 102nd Grey Cup

As time goes by this event seems to fade a little further each year into the background, which makes me a bit sad. I grew up when GC Sunday might as well have been a national holiday. There were large parties to watch the game and it was a very social event. Now, it barely gets any attention at all. Our family still has people over albeit not nearly what I remember as a kid. So is there anyone else out there that still looks forward to this each year? Anyone actually going to the game?

My father and I watch the game every year! I went to the Grey Cup game last year so I'll be watching it from the living room this year, haha.

I wish tickets were not so expensive, as I will be there already on vacation I just hope I can find a good place to watch the game Sunday in Vancouver.

Something I've learned from attending other GC games, go to the stadium and an hour or two before kick off people will be selling tickets for under face value. The longer you wait the cheaper the tickets will be but seat selection degrades. When the game was here in 2009 there were guys selling quality seats for $50 in parking lot an hour before kick-off.

My father-in-law and my buddy's family (season ticket holders) are the only ones I know who really care.

Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if the CFL were to disappear tomorrow.

I dont follow CFL as close as I would like (although 3 downs is horseshit for watching haha), but I do like watching the Grey Cup. More for the being Canadian aspect of it. Good excuse to have some Sunday beers. Well non NFL sunday beers haha

I've never been one to make a big event of it, but we'd usually watch it as a family when I was a kid. Now I rarely watch full games on TV in real-time, and usually just end up watching the ones I'm most interested in on PVR or catching the 4th quarter of the odd game. Mainly due to having so many other things on the go on weekends.

However, my wife and I have made a point of attending as many live games as possible in the last few years, so our summers get planned out as soon as the CFL schedule is released. In each of the last two seasons we've attended regular season games in Regina, Edmonton, and Calgary, along with the '12 WSF. Thought about going to Vancouver this year, but the ticket prices kind of scared us off a bit. If I were going to be there I'd definitely try to get some cheap tickets on gameday.

Odd that this will be the first time in a while that the home team wasn't in the game.

I was actually going to give up my season tix a few years back but I thought I would give it a try with my oldest son.

He had never been to a game before but now he is hooked.

7 years now and we recently increased our number of tix to 6 to split with some friends.

I had to give a bunch of cash to my dentist last week otherwise we would be on our way to Vancouver this wknd.

We don't miss a game. either at home or on TV.

I'm just waiting on my JumpOn flight to fill up. (7 short) Fly out Sunday morning and fly back Sunday night.
If it's a go then I'm a go and will be looking for a ticket. Might try getting one from scalpers or I might just suck it up and buy on online.

Have fun! I'm getting text updates from a buddy that's there, sounds like I should have gone for the parties. Next year is in Winnipeg, I don't think I'll be signing up for that one!

NFL ought to have two teams in Canada: Regina (remember SK carries the CFL in revenue and Green Bay pop. 160,000 sells out their 80,000 seat stadium) and Toronto. Be done with the CFL aka "league of punts".
