I turned on TC at the P1 level supercars in the rain for the race. I can drive it fine in a time trial, but with the CPU cars ramming me every corner, I needed TC to get above 3rd in the difficulty level I was using. I'm only spinning in races with no TC because I'm getting rammed. Driving in the rain is realistic. I've had hundreds of laps IRL on the track in the rain with ~400hp cars. The throttle application is similar to the real deal.Originally posted by b_t
Sebring wet the puddles are about five times deeper than that, or at least look and sound like it when you hit em. Didn't you cave and put traction control on? I never needed aids in F3 or 4 now in F6 cars all put the power down like they have welded differentials or double the amount of displayed horsepower
I ran top 1% in F4 rivals on pad and can finish 30 minute GT3 races in iRacing at a decent pace without spinning once. F6 that ain't happenin
Maybe the driving model itself is fine but something in their new input engine has fucked things up for pad players. Dunno, don't care, I'm not spending hundreds on a new wheel just for Xbone, it's already uninstalled. doesn't hold a candle to Assetto Corsa or even Project CARS and it has nothing in common with iRacing at all
You might be right, it might be terrible for pad players, I wouldn't know because I refuse to play racing games with a pad. They've stepped it up for steering wheels, it's a different league compared to FM4 on 360.
iRacing is a complete different league above FM6, I was just saying it's the closest to iRacing on a console.

Any reason you don't play iRacing? I can't play Forza anymore.. it completely killed consoles for me and I haven't had a Windows machine in over 10 years.
I feel like a single mother going back to her abusive husband after ten years with the Window situation but I took the hit and am totally addicted to iRacing now.. it is amazing.

Ahh, cool. I should have harassed you with about 1000 questions before I got everything setup. Once I have everything going properly I will hit you up, still waiting on a bunch of shit to get here but really enjoying it so far.

I'm probably more choked than I should be, paying $115 for Forza only for it to handle this oddly has really bothered me. F4 always felt great on pad.Originally posted by rage2

I've got one of the new Elite controllers on the way that lets you tweak the controllers sensitivity directly using a phone app. Maybe with it I can find something that feels better cuz I haven't found any combination of in-game settings that feels "correct." It would be sweet to find a way to love Forza cuz the car & track lists are exceptional.
Is the force feedback really good with the Fanatec wheel? after doing some motion rig stuff in iRacing, my G27 just feels numb and never strong enough. if I got a Fanatec then I'd have a multi platform wheel which may solve all my problems

You're free to come over and check it out. You've been to my place before. Shoot me a msg and give it a try.
My perspective? The FF is as strong as you want to configure it. You can ramp it up so it's finger breaking strong. The feedback is great, oversteer opposite lock kickback gives you so much valuable information so you can quickly countersteer and catch a rear slide moment.
One thing I forgot to mention, how bad is the lag on your TV? In rain races, accidently leaving the TV in say movie mode makes it impossible to stay on the track in the higher horsepower cars. You need to use at least game mode and at best a low lag monitor to correlate your driving properly.

That's a generous offer.. I'll take you up on that as soon as I can hahah
b_t are you racing with simulation steering? Because simulation steering is designed more for the wheel whereas normal steering is for the controller. That might explain the snap oversteer and weird handling. There was also a glitch when the game first came out where if you downloaded a tune, sometimes the front camber, tire pressure and toe settings stayed stock but the rear settings would load.
b_t should watch F1 this weekend and see how tough it is for drivers to stay on the road with a little bit of standing water, and how quickly you lose it touching a curb or a painted line.

I think the thing I like least about the rain races is that you can't put any wheel into it before you hit the puddles. Like, if it was real life you'd have a pretty good grip on the steering wheel and you'd at least partly be able to hold the wheels straight. You can't with a controller. You have to wait for it to fuck off and then try to bring it back straight.
I wish there was a way to turn the rain off. I don't care about realism. I'm sitting on a couch in my basement looking at a TV. There's nothing that can be done to make it feel real to me.

I was using sim steering.. it was always good on pad in Forza before, even in 5. Unrecoverable spins are annoying but the back end slides when it shouldn't. I read somewhere that the stock differential settings in this game are too aggressive under acceleration which is why cars just blow away their tires on exit even if they have less than 250 hp
dunno really, haven't downloaded it again to mess with anything. too busy playing iRacing

I don't know who decided to put autocross in this game, but I hope his wife is cheating on him and I hope his kids like the new guy better.

Does anybody still play this?
I had 3 of those 100% Driver XP mods, and I figured, what better way to use them by going into free play and racing the max laps on the longest track. That's 50 laps, on Nurburgring full (GP and Nordschleife). Over 800 miles and almost 6.5 hours later, I'm finally done. I don't recommend it.
I used the older Toyota LMP. I could have ran a faster lap with an Indycar or F1 car but they're so twitchy I think I would have crashed a lot more and in the end it just would have taken longer.

Just bought the ultimate bundle as part of boxing week sale. Have not started yet.
Is anyone still playing? New car pack today with some interesting vehicles and also many cars added since last year.
The last few packs along with the porsche pack have not been included in the car pass so they have been extra. 579 cars though now including a couple you could only unlock through contests/challenges. The Porsche pack though included VIR with 7 ribbons. Awesome track but for some reason it wasn't free like the old days.

I have been much more into PCars lately for the sim aspect but I picked up the Porsche pack. I hate the 918.
I was actually trying to beat your ghost a couple weeks ago (and I think succeeded) but it was near impossible to keep on the track just under steer to oversteer all over the place.
